Important Notice from Residents Association Chair:
Application to build 600 homes north of Little Green Lane: The *district council has withdrawn all its objections to the Outline planning application but the Appeal Inquiry will still go ahead (starting at 10am on 27th August at Penn Chamber, Three Rivers House, Rickmansworth) for 4 days and submissions lodged will be placed in front of the Planning Inspector. Local district and Parish Council councillors will address the Inquiry.
The proposed development will have such an impact upon our community that, in order to reduce vehicle movements, cycle lanes will be introduced along Links Way and Durrants Drive and to be effective it’s likely that the whole of Croxley (except the A412) will have to become a 20mph zone with added traffic calming measures. Oh, and on-road parking will not be permitted along Links Way and Durrants Drive. The CGRA will be asking for details of these traffic plans at the Inquiry.
Please attend the Inquiry if you can or at least be there for the morning session when the Inquiry begins.
*TRDC was directed by the Housing Minister to add 6 specific sites to its draft Local Plan, one of those being the Little Green Lane site. TRDC subsequently labelled the site as “grey belt”. The site therefore became not possible by TRDC to defend as being green belt. Additionally, TRDC could've been liable for significant (six figure) legal costs. Notwithstanding this, there will be local councillor, CGRA and CPRE representation at the Inquiry arguing and presenting evidence on issues such as: the site should remain classified green belt & not developed and is not sustainable.
