Summer Event for Early Years Practitioners, Children and Families
The South Yorkshire Branch of Early Education is holding its third annual summer event at Broomhall Nursery School on Saturday 15th June 2024.
This will be an amazing opportunity for practitioners to take part in a wide range of activities that can be used in practice back in setting. Families and children from the nursery will also be taking part in many of the activities so this is a real opportunity to see how these can support learning, development and (of course) play and enjoyment. The event will provide a whole morning of networking alongside practical and fun sessions.
Come and join us to share the passion, commitment and partnerships that make early years such a special place to work.
Sessions with children and families will include steel pans with young children, maths in the outdoors, music and movement, story-telling, book sharing, a Makey workshop and much more….
Once the children and families have left at lunch time there will be focused sessions for practitioners on the power of stories, Makey and the TWiTCH approach to support language and thinking skills.
Lunch bags included. Raffle with resource prizes.
Date: Saturday 15th June 2024
Time: 10.30am – 2.30pm
Location: Broomhall Nursery School, 4, Broomhall Road, Sheffield S10 2DN

Free CPD event for Early Years Practitioners in South Yorkshire
Thursday 8th February 2024
17:00 – 18:30
Online
In this session Dr Sacha Powell will introduce the principles for Early Years practice, which come from the revolutionary educational pioneer, Friedrich Froebel. Although he invented Kindergarten nearly 200 years ago, Froebel’s ideas still influence practice in almost every Early Years setting, including yours! The Froebel Trust provides free resources, grants and courses. These help Early Years educators, students, lecturers, and researchers to understand and develop a Froebelian approach in their work. Dr Sacha Powell will be sharing examples of how the Froebel Trust has enabled and inspired settings to adopt Froebelian principles and how they can support you too.
The session will be delivered by Dr Sacha Powell,
Chief Executive of the Froebel Trust.
