Last week, we held our penultimate school disco for the current school years. Our school team work hard to ensure that all of our children have the opportunity to attend one school disco per year. Last Thursday, our youngest pupils (Reception & Year One classes) had fun at their disco with their friends and classmates.
Mr Marvel - Children's Entertainer provides the entertainment, our PTA, The Friends of St John's C of E Primary School provides the snacks and our parent volunteers provide the additional support.
We are looking forward to our Year 6 Leavers’ Disco in July. This special event will mark the beginning of exciting new adventures for our eldest pupils.

Just over a month until our Summer Fair! This year is extra special as we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary.
A true community event with free entry, raising funds to support our school.
We will be producing a celebratory summer fair programme and if you are a local business wanting to raise your profile whilst also supporting a local school, then please do get in touch as we have advertising opportunities from as low as £25.
Alternatively, if you would like to support us by providing prizes for our raffle, or sponsor a stall by proving prizes, we'd love to hear from you.

All monies raise go directly to providing opportunities for the children. This year we have supported a whole school mosaic project, Easter eggs for every child and a planetarium visit. We are looking forward, with your help, to continue to provide more opportunities.

At St John’s C of E Primary School, learning goes beyond the class as we value and encourage the development of the whole child.
Our Eagles are a group of children who have volunteered to take on additional responsibilities and play an active role in making sure that our school continues to be an inclusive environment where everyone will always feels welcome.
Our Active eagles have recently carried out a lunchtime survey across the whole school. They spoke to as many of their classmates and other pupils as possible to find out what is working well and what could be done to improve lunchtimes further. There has been a noticeable improvement since the last survey and 75% of children are very happy with their lunchtimes. The children have offered ideas with the Eagle about how our school could make lunchtimes even better.
Lunchtimes are an important part of the school day and our team have been working to make sure that the children have an opportunity to enjoy their break times. OPAL project, football coaches from Game On Sports Coaching and Play Leaders from
Year 5 and 6, along with our staff is having an impact.
Our Reflective eagles have been thinking of ways to support the wider Watford community by thinking of way to improve the area close to the derelict
building on the corner of St John's road. The children are keen to share their ideas with Watford Council.

There is a new mosaic on the outside of our school building. Each tile was added by a St John’s C of E Primary School pupil or member of staff.
The mosaic was created to commemorate our school’s 10th birthday and is a celebration of the contributions made by all of the past, present and future members of our school community.
A massive Thank you to Workwell People Solutions Limited for a generous donation towards the total cost of the mosaic.
