St John’s Church of England Primary School is rooted in the Christian heritage of educating our young people and supporting families and the community. Our pupils are encouraged to express their thoughts and ideas, questioning the world around them while respecting the opinions of others. Our School teaches the National Curriculum in exciting and creative ways, always underpinned with an ethos of

Watford St John’s C of E Primary School and school office are currently closed for the summer holidays.

Our doors will reopen to children, families and visitors on Thursday 3rd September 2026.

Please note that on the last day of each term, school closes early for all year groups and there is no After School Club available on the last of each term before the Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays.

Thursday was Hertfordshire Transition Day, all of our children prepared for September by spending the morning with their new classes with their new Class Teacher. Our Year 6 pupils spent the day at the Secondary School and returned to our school for their Leavers’ Disco.

Our PTA, The Friends of St John's C of E Primary School funded a visit from Wonderdome. All of the children had the opportunity to learn about the Solar system and temporarily visit space without leaving Watford.

There were a number of school trips; Year 4 visited St Albans & the British Museum, Year 2 had a trip the beach and Year 1 visited a local farm.
