🎸 Big news from Soundbox! 🎶

We had an awesome visit from .io this week for our Backstage training, and we’re proud to say that Soundbox is now officially a Rockschool Associate School! 🙌

With most of our tutors now trained up, our lessons are about to get even better — more consistent, more engaging, and supported by the incredible new Rockschool Backstage resources.

That means learning (and practising!) will be easier, more fun, and way more effective for all our students. 🚀🎵

First batch of violins delivered to our three new schools in Harrow yesterday for our students to hire from us. Violins are a new instrument for Soundbox and we are excited to have some excellent tutors to teach this classic instrument.

You could say a new string to the Soundbox bow...........

The lure of mince pies is too much to handle - we have to close the studio so we can indulge.

Last lessons will be on Saturday 21st Dec. But fear not, we are back on Thursday 2nd January.

If you want lessons between Christmas and New Year then just get in touch and we will sort something out.

Should learning music be fun?

A taster session for a very young student this week got us thinking - how much should 'fun' and 'enjoyment' factor in learning to play an instrument.
Is it all about grade books, exams and formal progression, or should we be teaching students how to enjoy what they do so they want to do more of it?

At Soundbox our overriding aim is to get students to enjoy music. We make it relevant to them by teaching them what they want to listen to, be it metal core, pop or just a christmas carol.

What we don't do on a taster session is bring out the grade books and start planning the exams. That will only put the younger students off.

If you want your child to have fun and enjoy music so they develop a life-long love of it, then come down and visit us. They will thank you for it.

It promises to be an awesome gig with loads of singalong tunes.

I came into the studio this morning to see this wonderful sight. Our landlord has provided an amazing looking sign so everyone knows where we are.

We are also now listed on the occupants board at the front of the building so students will know where to turn in.
