🧱 Phonic Blocks Game - Learning to read & spell through games

🧱For this activity we used:
* Megabloks (1 block and 3 block pieces)
* Marker pen
* Images of CVC objects (e.g. pig, book and hat)

✍🏽 Stick the images of the objects onto the front surface of the 3 piece blocks.
Using a marker pen, write the individual letters onto the 1 piece blocks to spell the name of the object (one letter on one block). Jumble the one piece letter blocks.

DIY Sensory Play - How to Make Rainbow Oats at Home.

Rainbow Oats Plus Home Learning Activity Ideas With The Coloured Oats!

For each colour of oats we used:
1/2 cup of oats
An empty clean jam jar
1/2 tablespoon water
5-10 drops food colouring
Paper towel

✋ Method:
Place 1/2 cup of oats into a jam jar (one for each colour of oats that you wish to make).
Pour 1/2 tablespoon of water to the food colouring and stir (the water saturates the oats in color, allowing you to use less dye).
Pour the coloured water onto the oats.
Secure the lid onto the jam jar.
Mix the oats and food colouring together by shaking the jar until all of the oats are fully saturated (if the colour is not fully distributed, stir with a spoon or rub the oats together inside the zip-seal bag).
Allow the coloured oats to air dry by spreading them out onto a paper towel.
Enjoy and learn through play.
Store the oats in the zip seal bag/sealed container.

Mark making is crucial in enabling a child to write. There are several types of media and engaging tools other than paper, pens and pencils which promote early writing such as ...Bath paints and bathroom items!

✍🏽 To make marks and support pre writing skills we used:
Hairbrush
Comb
Toothbrush
Bath sponge

For each coloured bath paint we used:
Plastic container
1/4 cup cornflour
1/4 cup body wash
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon food colouring
