Year 2 Outdoor Adventure Education kayak coaching sessions are complete for this year. Well done to all year 2 students who have delivered a range of sessions focusing on different kayaking skills. You have implemented your knowledge and experiences from the course well into this final assessment. We were lucky to have two sunny days on the canal for the participants to enjoy the afternoons of paddling. Well done to all involved!

One of the many highlights from the Greece watersports residential was being taught by instructor Olly who is an ex student of HSDC on the Outdoor Adventure Education course.

Olly finished the course only a year ago and flew out to Beyond Beach on his 18th birthday last summer. Here he taught sailing, windsurfing and wing foiling as a beachie seasonnaire.

Olly impressed the team and was invited back for a second season at the resort, a true testimony to his hard work over the last few years. It was excellent to be taught by him over the week, and a role model for current students to see new possibilities within the industry.

This autumn Olly is off to embark on a new adventure at University to study officer of the watch engineering. We wish him the best of luck in the course and hope to see him out on the water this winter.

The end of an excellent and successful residential to Greece for Outdoor Adventure Education students who took part in a variety of watersports over the week. Their action packed week included sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, wing surfing, kayaking, cycling, swimming, running, yoga, relaxing by the pool and trips to see the local town.

It has been amazing watching each student progress from day 1 to day 5 on their dinghy sailing experience. Photos above are from day 1 when students completed a short course in low wind to and from the beach. In comparison, today, we saw all students helm individually practicing race starts in a medium breeze. We are excited to see their learning come together tomorrow in the final day regatta led by BeyondBeach

Excellent effort for student Will and lecturer Paul heading out for a ride after a busy day on the water

Students have enjoyed a day of race tactics on dinghy's ahead of tomorrow's regatta. Alongside working on winging technique, free sailing time where students took out dinghy's, paddle boards and windsurfs!

Day 3 in Greece

Morning swim, run followed by breakfast. Sailaway to a cove on the opposite side of the bay for a swim and to fix the catamaran lecturer Paul broke... We then had a cruise back to the hotel

Afternoon of beach games, watching capsize a catamaran and volleyball. Followed by dinner and a relaxing evening before a busy day in the sun and water tomorrow

Starting the morning right 🧘🏼‍♀️

An awesome first day on the water for this great bunch of students. Morning run and swim for those that wanted it, followed by breakfast. Then onto the beach where we have sailed single handers, catamarans, sailing with spinnakers, paddle boarding and windsurfing. Students are now relaxing before their welcome drinks with the beach team, dinner and a quiz. Safe to say no resting on this trip and looking forward to the week ahead. 🙌🏼⛵☀️
