Course Introduction:
Narcissistic abuse can be subtle, complex, and profoundly disorientating for those who experience it.
Clients may present with confusion, self-doubt, trauma symptoms, chronic shame, difficulty trusting their own perceptions, and a deeply shaken sense of self. The abuse itself is often difficult to name, particularly where it has been normalised, minimised, or hidden within close relationships.
This specialist CPD workshop is designed for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who want to deepen their understanding of narcissistic abuse, including both emotional and physical harm, and strengthen their confidence in working with its impact in therapy.
About this workshop
This workshop offers a clinically grounded exploration of narcissistic abuse through a relational lens.
Together, we will consider how patterns of coercion, manipulation, gaslighting, control, intimidation, and boundary violation can affect a client’s emotional world, bodily safety, identity, and ability to trust themselves and others.
The training is intended to support practitioners in recognising both overt and covert presentations of abuse, developing stronger formulation, and working in ways that are thoughtful, ethical, and containing.
