OPEN EVENING - Two WEEKS TO GO

Our Open Evening is just around the corner.

This is a great opportunity to see why Crookhorn College continues to be a first-choice school for many families. Meet our staff, explore our facilities, and discover the wide range of academic and enrichment opportunities available to students.

You will hear from our Headteacher, as well as our Head Boy and Head Girl, before touring the College and finding out more about life at Crookhorn.

It was a pleasure to celebrate the achievements of our students today as they received their GCSE and Early Entry results.

These outcomes reflect not only academic success but also the determination, resilience and hard work shown throughout their time at Crookhorn College. We are immensely proud of every student and all they have achieved.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and best wishes for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach GCSE Results Day, we would like to share some important information to help ensure the day runs smoothly for all students.

Results Day Arrangements:
Year 11 Students are encouraged to come into Crookhorn to collect their results in person from 10:30am. Staff will be on hand to support and celebrate with them, as well as offer guidance on next steps, if needed. Year 10 students can come in for 11:30am.

New Digital Results Option – Education Record App
From summer 2026, students will also be able to access their GCSE results digitally via the “Education Record” app, a free, government-backed platform. Students need to download the app before they arrive in school and then we will give them the QR code they need whilst they get their results.

Key Information about the App:
Results will automatically become available on the app from 11:00am on Results Day.

The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in advance.

It provides a secure and permanent digital record of GCSE results and certificates
Students can easily share their results with colleges, sixth forms, apprenticeship providers, and employers.

Information stored includes:
*Name, date of birth, and address
*Official GCSE results and digital certificates
*Schools attended
*Any support needs (e.g. SEND status)

Results will remain accessible long-term, reducing the risk of lost or damaged paper certificates.

Important – Smartphone Requirement:
To make use of this digital service, it is essential that students bring their smartphone into school on Results Day, with the app installed in advance where possible. This will allow them to access and use their results digitally.

Please note:
Use of the app is optional but strongly recommended– students will still receive their results in person as normal.

The app simply provides a convenient and secure digital backup.

We strongly encourage families to support students in preparing their device ahead of the day to ensure a seamless experience.

At Crookhorn, College Houses are passionately supported. Our House system plays a vital role in College life, providing students with a strong sense of belonging, encouraging participation, and fostering lasting friendships across year groups.

During the evening, you'll hear from our Headteacher about her vision for the College, as well as from our Head Boy and Head Girl about their experiences as Crookhorn students. You will also have the opportunity to explore our departments and facilities, either independently or with one of our student Prefects.

As a College, we know that daily attendance is one of the most important foundations for our learning, opportunities, confidence, and sense of belonging.

Every day in Crookhorn is a day to connect, contribute and grow. For our final attendance streak challenge of the year, we were delighted to celebrate these four fantastic students in yesterday’s Whole College Assembly. Their names were drawn as the lucky winners of our summer attendance goodie bags which included a £15 voucher and lots of summer‑themed surprises.

These students continued to show up, finished the year on a high and proved that you really do have to be in to win!

Whole College End of Year Assembly 2026

Congratulations to all of the Houses, teams and individual students who were recognised and celebrated today at our Whole College End of Year Assembly.

A special mention must go to Petworth House, who have made College history by winning the overall House Cup for the first time in 16 years!

Petworth enjoyed a remarkable day, claiming six major awards in a sweeping display of excellence across the College:

Congratulations to Year 10 student Evie, who recently travelled to London to rehearse and perform two songs from Les Misérables alongside West End professionals at a charity gala supporting the Black Heart Foundation.

The event was a huge success, raising over £30,000 to help improve educational access and opportunities for underprivileged children around the world. Alongside performing, Evie gained valuable experience, advice, and insight from industry professionals to support her development as a performer.

Evie is no stranger to the stage, having recently impressed audiences in our College Production of Oliver Jr. in the role of Bet.

We are incredibly proud of Evie for representing Crookhorn so brilliantly and for contributing to such a worthwhile cause.

Earlier today, 11 students were invited to visit Portsmouth Magistrates Court following a workshop with a magistrate in January. Students were able to look around the courtroom, learn about the different roles within the court and ask the magistrates questions. We then had the opportunity to sit in remand court and listen to real cases being heard and sentenced. The students behaved very maturely within the court and were then able to discuss the cases with the magistrates afterwards to understand how the sentences had been decided.
