FREE Enrichment Workshops- Spaces Still Available!

We are excited to offer a series of after-college workshops, with the first one starting this Thursday, 13 February at 3.20pm. These sessions will feature various business owners and professionals sharing their career journeys and experiences. These are offered to all year groups and FREE to attend.

Kicking off our series this Thursday in SF block, we have a guest speaker who owns a personal training business and has also worked in social care. She will be delivering three talks in total, and we encourage those interested to attend all three sessions.

Information from SHCG on their T Level evenings..

We are excited to invite you to our South Hampshire College Group T Level Parents Information Evenings. These events are designed for parents/carers, school staff and students in years 10 and 11 to learn about T Levels.

The events will be held at Southampton College, Eastleigh College, Fareham College and CEMAST.
Each evening will begin with an introductory presentation from our Vice Principals, followed by a tour led by our Curriculum Directors and Lecturers. During the tour, attendees will receive detailed information about work experience, structure, highlights and possible progression routes for our T Level courses.

Whilst the Vice Principle presentations will be similar at each event, the tours and T Level subjects vary per college so if you are interested in more than one college, please be sure to sign up to more than one event.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions and speak to current T Level students, our Lecturers, Work Experience team and local Universities.

BAE Systems information..

We understand that some young women feel uncertain about the potential transition from education into STEM industry training and employment.
Our **NEW** Headway Programme gives identifying females in academic years 11 and 13 the opportunity to:
• learn about BAE Systems
• meet and shadow our female staff
• explore engineering and business services apprenticeship programmes, starting September 2025
Taking place over four days in January and February 2025, students will be matched with a BAE Systems mentor and visit Portsmouth Naval Base. There will also be opportunities to meet current BAE Systems apprentices, who will provide insights into their role and share their experience.
We’ll offer some guidance on how to apply for our apprenticeship programmes, starting in September 2025.
Programme dates and times are:
• Wednesday 15 January, 5pm – 6pm, Virtual via WebEx (joining instructions and links will be provided)
• Tuesday 21 January, 4pm – 6pm, Portsmouth Naval Base
• Monday 3 February, 4pm – 6pm, Portsmouth Naval Base
• Tuesday 18 February (half term), 9am – 3pm, Portsmouth Naval Base
Places are limited, so you must commit to attending all dates/times listed above. Access to Portsmouth Naval Base is subject to MOD security checks and permissions. You will need valid photo ID (e.g. passport or provisional driver’s license) to gain access to Portsmouth Naval Base.

- Student full name
- Student date of birth
- Student nationality (please include details of any dual citizenship)
- Parent/guardian name, mobile number and email address
- Current school or college
- Current academic year of study (i.e. Year 11 or 13)

- 100 - 150 words on why you’d like to take part in the programme and how you feel it would benefit you
