Dear Year 6 Parents,

Due to unprecedented demand the closing time to get tickets for the Year 6 play will be Sunday Evening. Our Thursday Evening performance is almost full, and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. As it stands each child is being allocated 2 tickets for one performance. If there are any tickets remaining - we will allocate additional tickets.

Thank you,

Thank you to everyone who came and supported the Year 6 Summer Fair. We are awaiting final funds raised - but at first count, they certainly have raised enough for their leaver's disco and ice cream! Well done!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Temperatures remain high, although they are expected to drop slightly tomorrow.

Firstly, I would like to thank the children for how well they have coped this week. Despite feeling very uncomfortable in the sustained heat, they have shown real resilience, and we are incredibly proud of them.

We recognise that some families may still feel it is safer for their child to remain at home. We fully understand and respect this decision. However, for safeguarding reasons and to support the office in managing absence, if you intend to keep your child at home on Friday 26 June, please complete the new online form for each child by 8.00am tomorrow. Please do not use the previous form.

Where children have been absent all week and have not been seen, it is likely that a safeguarding call or home visit will take place.

School remains open to all pupils all day. Flexible collection arrangements will continue to be in place, with children able to be collected from 1.15pm onwards by a registered adult.

If your child will not be attending school, please remember to cancel their school dinner before 8.00am so that the kitchen can plan accordingly.

Thank you for the continued support and understanding shown this week – it is greatly appreciated, and I will ensure this is shared with the whole staff team.

A normal school day will resume on Monday, with temperatures expected to drop over the weekend.

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Met Office has extended the Red Extreme Heat Warning to include our area.

Firstly, I would like to say how brilliantly the children have done today despite the very hot temperatures, even though they have been feeling very uncomfortable in these conditions. We are incredibly proud of how well they have coped.

In light of the forecast, we recognise that some families may feel it is safer for their child to remain at home. Some parents have today indicated that they will not be sending their children in tomorrow due to concerns about the heat and a wish to keep them at home where they may be more comfortable. We fully understand and respect these decisions.

For safeguarding reasons and to support the office in managing absence, if you intend to keep your child at home tomorrow, please complete this online form for each child by 8.00am. This will support the accurate organisation of registers and assist our admin team, who are working extremely hard in these challenging conditions.

Flexible collection arrangements will also remain in place, as outlined in the letter sent yesterday. Children may be collected from 1.15pm onwards by an adult who is registered as a contact.

Please be reminded that school remains open all day for any pupils to attend.

At present, we expect normal school hours to resume on Friday. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you updated.
We are sorry for the late hour of sending this letter. We hope our flexibility this week has supported all of our families in some way, and thank you for your patience.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support.

Kind regards,

Charlotte Faithfull
