Just like his big brother, little Alfie kept us waiting to meet him, but eventually made a swift entrance into the world on 26/06/23.

Layton is obsessed with him and is already the best big brother. 💞

And that's a wrap!

Today marked my last day of work for maternity leave and I marked the occasion with a garden party for the all children and their parents. This is the only photo I thought to take though, and it's unfortunately missing one of the gang members.

Thank you to all of my families for the generous gifts and lovely cards, and of course as always for your support of Cherry Tree Childminding and myself throughout my pregnancy. I'll miss all the children's little characters.

Now, it's firstly time to have a glass of fizz (alcohol free of course), finish preparing for the baby, spend some quality time with Layton and attempt to put my feet up in the final few weeks before our little bundle arrives!

I have been meaning to post these photos from the couple of weeks that surrounded the coronation for a while!

We used our finger paints to make Union flags to wave and some of the children made crowns at playgroup. I also set up a Union flag rice sensory tray which was a big hit! The flag pattern lasted all of 30 seconds of course and I'm still finding rice in some places now, but the children had a great time scooping, pouring and mixing the rice, letting it fall through tubes and pretending to cook with it.

A brilliant day as always at Staunton Farm! We enjoyed the park and soft play, and a picnic, as well as the animals - the favourites being the cows and ducks.

The children have all enjoyed meeting Milo over the past week. He has let some of them stroke him and we've had lots of "rabbit" from one of the children. 🐰

This week we made biscuits for St George's Day! The children really enjoyed the activity, helping to pour the ingredients into the bowl, rolling out the dough and then decorating them like an English flag.

24/4/23-27/4/23

Our focus this week was penguins. The children enjoyed a craft activity - making their very own penguin. We read "Be Brave Little Penguin" during group story time to support this.
