Year 6 - Outline for Induction Day
As you will know from our recent communications, Induction Day is now on Monday 3 July from 8.25-2.50pm.
All pupils should attend in their full Primary School uniform and come through the front gate on arrival from 8.10am so they can be directed to Barton Hall for assembly which will start shortly after 8.25am.
Pupils will be taken to their new Tutor and Tutor Group and will stay with them throughout the day.
We intend to scan fingerprints for the bio-metric cashless cafeteria in the morning sessions to enable those who have signed up to use our canteen in September. Please be aware that for Induction Day we ask families to provide their child with money (cash) to purchase food and drink items from the Canteen or provide them with a packed lunch and drink. if you choose to send your child with money £3.00-£3.50 will provide a main meal and drink. Children in receipt of Free School Meals will be provided for accordingly.
*** Worryingly, there are still some families who have not returned their admissions' paperwork to us. This puts us in a very difficult position. Please ensure that you return everything to us at Barton Hall Reception by the end of Friday at 3pm, after this time Reception will be closed. We need these essential details about your child BEFORE Induction Day on Monday.***
Pupils will spend time with their new Tutor Group getting to know each other, have break and lunchtime to learn where things are and how the canteen works, there will be another site tour and some lessons to experience. No PE kit is required on Induction Day, just a re-fillable water bottle, stationery set, big smile and an amazing attitude!
We will finish the day at 2.50pm. If you are happy that your child walks home at the end of the day, please ensure they are really familiar with the route involved and those arrangements that morning so they don't forget and also send them in with a note to this effect. We need to know how children are getting home if not being directly collected by a parent/carer at the gate.
Please remember and respect our rules on mobiles phones which were discussed at the recent Year 6 Parents' Evenings and ensure your child is absolutely clear about this.
Please look at the Transition section of the HTC website for more information about Transition and the start of term on Monday 4 September. There are resources and optional summer work on there if pupils are looking to have a go at some tasks before official classes start.
Skoolkit are stocked with our new uniform items alongside our normal clothing items so please make note of which Tutor Group and House your child is in before purchasing items this summer.
See you on Monday at the front gate!
