🎃 Rachelle and the Hedgehog children have been getting creative while developing their fine motor skills.

Using a wonderful collection of natural resources, autumn treasures and mini pumpkins, the children have been exploring different textures, shapes and materials. Through their creative experiences, they have been strengthening their hand-eye coordination, practising their grasp and developing their dexterity, all while celebrating the beauty of the autumn season. 🎃

🍂The baby room has been exploring cinnamon-scented playdough, paired with some of the wonderful autumn treasures they have been collecting.

🍂 The children used their senses to squish, roll and explore the playdough while investigating the different textures, colours and natural treasures around them. A lovely sensory experience filled with the cosy scents and delights of autumn! 🍁🍂

As many of you may be aware, our staff and some of their family and friends participated in a sea dip at Seaham on 27th September to support Evie's Cancer Journey.
We successfully raised a total of £1,407 in cash, in addition many donated directly to the GoFundMe page. We passed on these funds today to Evie's mam, Tara, who was beyond grateful. We hope this contribution assists Evie in creating some well-deserved memories.

The children enjoyed taking part in a range of calming activities, creating a peaceful and nurturing experience. It was a lovely opportunity for them to slow down, relax and focus on their wellbeing.

This activity was a fantastic way to bring their current project, ‘Me, Myself and I’, to life. The children had the opportunity to explore their creativity while thinking about their own unique features and characteristics. It was lovely to see their personalities shine through in each of their creations!

Frozen Autumn Treasures 🧊 🍂

The children explored autumn treasures encased in ice. Using pipettes and syringes filled with water, the children carefully worked to melt the ice and release the hidden treasures. They showed curiosity and perseverance as they experimented with the water, noticing how the ice changed and gradually melted.

The children also enjoyed using the spouting to roll and explore different autumn objects, including conkers, grapefruit slices and pinecones. They watched closely as the objects travelled down the spouting, noticing that some rolled faster than others. The children experimented with different objects and enjoyed repeating the activity.

Pumpkin painting 🎃 🎨 🖌

The Hedgehog children have been enjoying painting pumpkins as part of our autumn activities. They explored a range of colours and used brushes and their hands to apply paint to the pumpkins. The children showed curiosity and creativity as they experimented with different patterns and designs. They developed their fine motor skills while holding and using the paintbrushes, and enjoyed talking about the colours and textures they could see.
