Update… 🐥

We now have 3 ducklings: Jupiter, Lightening and Golden. The 3 ducklings have now been moved over to the brooding cage where they will rest under the heat lamp 💛

The children have engaged in lots of meaningful conversations discussing nature and how a duckling begins as an egg before hatching. We have used lots of new vocabulary from this such as hatching, brooding cage, pip, incubator plus many many more.

The children have been quiet, gentle and so caring towards our ducklings. Stroking them and talking about each of their appearances.

We are super excited to see how the next few days go. We will keep you all updated 🌱

The whole process has lots of links to the EYFS… the main one being Understanding of the world so we are able to explore and embed this into our learning.

‼️NO COATS IN THE CAR SEAT ‼️

Although the harness seems tight with the coat on, the padding inside would compress in a crash which would leave the harness dangerously loose on the child.
A loose harness can result in the child’s arms and shoulders slipping out and the child being thrown out of the seat.

It’s also a major overheating risk since children get quite warm in the car seat anyways, add in the heating in the car plus a puffy coat/snowsuit? Far too hot.

*PLEASE NOTE THIS APPLIES TO ALL TYPES OF SEAT INCLUDING HIGH BOOSTERS USING THE ADULT SEATBELT. and even adults shouldn’t wear puffy coats with their seatbelt as the same compression would happen, leaving the seatbelt loose and you are at risk of worse injuries.

EDITED TO ADD:
The hot water bottle is not to be kept in the car seat or around a baby/child. It’s to pre warm up the seat and to be taken out before the child gets into the seat!!!
