Year 2 forest school.
Today we set up in the little forest but we soon changed our plans. As we entered the forest, we found a sleeping hedgehog. We decided that it was best for us to move to keep the hedgehog safe. Mr Rivett closed the forest and Miss Grotz put the hedgehog house beside its current sleeping position to give it a safe place to sleep.

Once the hedgehog was safe, we set up our fire circle. We learned about the ‘respect’ position and how we enter the area. We collected sticks to keep our fire growing and had a turn using the flint and steel. Although that part was a bit tricky, we persevered. Once the fire was ready, we used our long sticks to cook some hotdogs. They were tasty and we enjoyed them more knowing we had cooked them ourselves.

We also enjoyed watering the vegetables that were growing on our site and had some fun in the water area and mud kitchen.

We have planned the calendar with the intention of giving you as much notice as possible of upcoming events, helping you to plan ahead.

Please note that, although we will do our best to stick to the dates published, circumstances may occasionally mean that changes are unavoidable. We will endeavour to keep to the calendar wherever possible and will notify you of any changes as soon as we can.

Our Year 1 children had a fantastic PE lesson with Gary Sykes, who came in to deliver an exciting sports workshop yesterday!

The children explored a range of fundamental movement skills, focusing on developing their spatial awareness, hand-eye and eye-foot coordination, aiming, accuracy and control. 🎯⚽️

They particularly enjoyed playing Battleships as part of their throwing activities, putting their aiming skills to the test while having lots of fun! 🚢🎯

The session was a brilliant opportunity for the children to develop their coordination, balance, confidence and teamwork through fun challenges.

A big thank you to Gary for delivering such an engaging session!
