🐵A Very Warm Welcome to Val! 🐵

The Cheeky Chimps Team are delighted to introduce the newest member of our Senior Leadership Team — Val!

Val has joined us as our Toddler Room (Tree Tops) Lead as well as becoming part of our Senior Leadership Team.

Val joins us with a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion, and we are absolutely delighted to have her on board. We’re especially pleased that, out of all the nurseries that were throwing job offers her way, it was Cheeky Chimps that she chose to join! 🥰🐒

We’re thrilled to have welcomed Val into the team and we are excited to watch her settle into her new role. We know she’ll be a fantastic addition and we’re sure our children, families and team will make her feel very much at home.

Cheeky Chimp Parents- we have sent out a communication via our parent app. Unfortunately it seems some information regarding our new menu was missing.

We are very excited to announce that as of September we have a Chef-Educator joining our team (more information to follow).

As such, we have made some changes to our menu. All meals will now be homemade and freshly prepared onsite in our nursery kitchen, using fresh, nutritious ingredients.

We do hope you like our new menu.

We would also like to give a very big and special thank you to Shelleys Kitchen who has been our meal provider over the last two years. Preparing delicious meals for our Chimps, as well as catering for special events. With the next special event being our Chimp Troop Leader’s wedding buffet, we know it will be absolutely delicious ❤️ We will not be strangers and will still enjoy special visits with the Chimps to enjoy a meal in your cafe 🍽️

📢 Important Update – Heart of the Community Event

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Heart of the Community Event due to low stall interest and availability. Although we are disappointed, we are still determined to support our fundraising goal and bring our community together in a different way.

❤️ We are excited to announce that our raffle will now run online, with a dedicated JustGiving page launching tomorrow. Every penny raised will go directly towards purchasing our life‑saving defibrillator for Little JEMS Nursery.

🎟️ How it will work:

Our raffle will run online through our JustGiving page

The draw will take place as soon as we reach our fundraising target, or by 31st September at the latest

We will share full evidence of how the funds are used and the purchase of the defibrillator

All donated prizes will still be included in the raffle

💛 We want to thank every business, family, and supporter who has already contributed prizes. Your kindness means the world to us and will still make a huge difference.

Please keep an eye out tomorrow for the launch post and the JustGiving link. Together, we can still achieve something truly special for our children, families, and wider community.

A lovely day for a visit to the park for some of our Chimps 🐵❤️

Cheeky Chimps remains open throughout the summer holidays, but today marked the end of term for our term time only children, and what an emotional day it has been.

We'd like to wish all of our wonderful children and families a very happy, safe, and fun filled summer holiday. Thank you for making this year so incredibly special.

Today we also said goodbye to some of our amazing preschool children. For some, this really is the end of an era, they've been with us since they were babies, back when Cheeky Chimps was simply me, Kim, childminding from my home. Looking back at how far we've all come together fills my heart with so much pride and gratitude. What an incredible journey it has been, and I will be forever thankful for your trust, your support, and your belief in me and, later, in our wonderful Chimp family.

This year has brought so many proud moments. From a fantastic Ofsted visit to successful EHCP applications, we've celebrated milestones big and small with every single family. We've explored through Forest School adventures, enjoyed beach trips, laughed together at soft play parties, and created countless memories that we will treasure forever. It truly has been an action packed year.

Every single Chimp who walks through our doors is loved, nurtured, and cared for as if they were our own. Watching your children grow in confidence, learn new skills, and become the amazing little people they are is the greatest privilege. Thank you for allowing us to be part of the most important years of your child's life. It is an honour we never take for granted.

To our Chimps who are moving on, please know that each and every one of you will always hold a very special place in our hearts. We are so proud of the incredible little people you have become. Now it's your turn to spread your wings, chase your dreams, and reach for the stars. We will be cheering you on every step of the way.

Finally, to my incredible Team Chimp... I honestly don't have the words to express how grateful I am for each and every one of you. Every single day, you make a difference to the lives of the children in your care. Your love, patience, dedication, and passion shine through in everything you do, and I am constantly in awe of the care you give. Cheeky Chimps simply wouldn't be what it is without you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every child, every family, and every member of Team Chimp for another unforgettable year.

Chef Day

What a fantastic day we've all had! 👩‍🍳🧁
Today, we were lucky enough to be visited by a local chef, who spent the day helping our children develop their cooking skills while having lots of fun.

We started by baking allergy-safe blueberry muffins (recipe and method in the comments). Once they had cooled, our Chimps had a wonderful time decorating their creations.
Next, we made fruit kebab rockets, which the children thoroughly enjoyed as their afternoon snack. 🚀🍓🍇

To top off a brilliant day, every child went home with their very own decorated cupcake, a copy of the recipe, a whisk, and a chef's hat to continue the fun at home.

We already can't wait for our next chef visit! 💙

Last night troop Leader Kim had the pleasure of treating our wonderful team to a delicious meal and drinks as a huge thank you for everything they do for our Chimps 🐵❤️
Unfortunately we were missing 4 of the team that couldn’t attend but we had a drink on your behalf 😂
A lovely night celebrating the hard work and dedication of an incredible team.
