Absolutely over the moon to see the journey that Sir Francis Hill Primary School have taken their pupils on through Schools Golf over the past year!🤩

What began as a simple School Golf Taster Day last Summer has grown into a fully embedded, high‑quality golf programme delivered across the school; embracing the The Golf Foundation Unleash Your Drive initiative and now earning national recognition through the National Presidents Award. An incredible achievement and so well deserved! 🏆

For any golf coaches, instructors, activators, volunteers or Golf Clubs looking for inspiration to take golf into schools, watch this video (via link) ⬇️ and see first‑hand how powerful a single one day taster can be. The ripple effect is real - confidence, wellbeing, skill development, and a whole new world of opportunity for young people.

For schools who have considered introducing golf but haven’t taken that step yet - or those wanting a fresh activity, wellbeing tool, or development pathway for pupils — this video ⬇️ shows exactly what golf and the Unleash Your Drive initiative can bring to your school community.

A huge well done to Mr Frecklington and everyone at Sir Francis Hill School for the way you’ve embraced golf and quite literally ‘Unleashed Your Drive’! Truly inspiring work! 💪☺️

Monday marked the close of the Pottergate Golf Club Summer Junior Coaching Programme ⛳️🌞

This season has brought together a fab mix of sessions - Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Long Game, On‑Course Play and Fundamental Movement Skills - with content ranging from Bunker Play, Slope, Pace, Course Management, Strategy, Unleash Your Drive (to name just a few areas!). From first-ever hits to gaining handicaps, reducing them, and celebrating first (and repeat!) wins, the progress has been awesome 🤩

Beyond the skills, the personal and professional growth has been just as inspiring. The joy, confidence and fulfilment that golf brings to young people, families and communities is something I’ve always believed in - and it’s exactly why I first started working in the industry ⛳️

It has been an absolute pleasure coaching the wonderful juniors at Pottergate, and I’m so grateful for the support and encouragement from families, staff, volunteers and members. Pottergate GC don’t just say they’re “the friendly club” - they live it, breathe it & deliver it every single time. I couldn’t have wished to be involved anywhere better 🥰

I’ll be stepping back from coaching for now, but I’m already looking forward to seeing all the juniors out on the fairways, continuing to grow, enjoy the game, make memories & continue building friendships that will last a lifetime 😊

🌷 Spring has officially arrived for the Pottergate Golf Club Juniors!

On Saturday, our young golfers kicked off the journey towards the 2026 season with a focused short‑game strategy session led by Coach Ali Curran ⛳️

The group explored green‑reading, aim, landing zones, and how to select the right club for a variety of chip shots. They also worked on decision‑making, shot creativity, and maintaining concentration & focus - all essential ingredients for confident scoring around the green.

A huge thank you to Ali for an engaging and insightful session. We’re excited to put these new skills into practice as we build momentum for the season ahead 🏌️‍♀️🏌🏻‍♂️
