For 11+ sessions include verbal reasoning (comprehension) and writing for purpose preparation. For Key Stage 3 & 4 sessions develop understanding and confidence in spoken and written English. We use books, films and stories in general to develop the ability to write in an organised and interesting way. For GCSE, A level and degree level studies, sessions enable a complete understanding of both the Language and Literature papers. All set texts are studied and we prepare our students for exams from all examining boards. For the adult learner, sessions are designed to;
-boost confidence and provide a better understanding of spoken and written English.
-develop business English for work purposes.
-give support for specific writing e.g. CVs, application letters

STEM
The team teaches maths from primary to A level and beyond, and general science to GCSE level with a speciality in physics. TCW has had success with pupils of all levels of ability from those who struggle to the high flyers as we adapt to each individual, helping strengthen an area of weakness and pushing further in areas of high competence. Our greatest strength though lies in making the pupil feel more confident "Half the battle with any subject lies in your ability to believe you can do it." Performing Arts;

What if your child's writing struggle isn't about writing at all? ✏️

After decades of supporting young people with SEND, Helen knows the blank page is rarely the real problem. This Dyslexia Week, she shares a session with a GCSE student who was stuck before the pen even touched the paper.

Instead of another worksheet, the exam task became a "Teenage Manual": how teenagers think, feel, and what they need from their parents. Then came a drama technique called Forum Theatre, where they acted out real situations and tried different responses safely.

The words came. The writing flowed. And a young person who said "I can't do this" absolutely nailed it. 💛

I had a thought inside my head,
too big, too loud, too shy, I said.
I drew it first, then gave it words,
and now my story's being heard.

Some children love writing. Some avoid it completely. Some have brilliant imaginations but find it hard to get the words onto paper.
