Our chess team recently played in the third stage of the English Schools Chess Championship against Stowe School, having previously overcome a tough Solihull side in the second stage and, prior to that, having finished as one of the top teams at the regional qualifier in Birmingham.
Another gruelling match was anticipated, but the team consisting of Team Captain Alex, Billy, Gregory, David, Ajay and Monty, emerged as winners, scoring 6-0. The Warwick team now face one final match to earn a place in the prestigious grand final.
Many congratulations to all the boys and best wishes for the next match!

Yesterday we hosted our Warwick 7s Tournament — and what a fantastic success it was!
We are proud to host one of the biggest school rugby tournaments, and of the opportunity it gives our boys to experience a home event of this scale.
A huge thank you to all the schools who took part, everyone who came along to support, and the staff in our sports department and across the wider Foundation who helped make the tournament possible. We are already looking forward to welcoming you back next year!
Warwick 7s is not the only exciting rugby taking place this weekend. Today, our U15 rugby team will face Northampton School for Boys in the semi-final of the Continental Tyres National Schools Cup.
The match will be played at Aylesbury RFC, kicking off at 3.45pm. Over 70 boys will be travelling to support the team, alongside many parents and family members.
Good luck to all the boys representing Warwick — we have no doubt you will do us proud!
If you are unable to attend, the match will be streamed live on the England Rugby YouTube channel. Watch the match live here: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0sqFwG0

A team of 13 boys recently travelled with Mr Stephenson to Nottingham High School to take part in the annual regional Latin and Greek Speaking Competition, joining pupils from nine other schools across a range of categories.
Warwick has a strong tradition of success at this event — some years winning every category we enter — and once again our boys featured prominently on the leaderboard.
In the Intermediate Greek solo category, Victor achieved an impressive second place out of nine competitors. Mr Stephenson noted that the overall winner delivered “perhaps the best Greek verse reading” he has ever heard at this level — making Victor’s result all the more commendable.
We were narrowly beaten in the Novice Latin mini‑play (groups of four), which had 37 competitors. Barnaby, Freddie, Oliver and Jay secured a strong second place with an excellent performance.
In the Junior Latin pairs category, which included 28 competitors, Matei and Jenson were highly commended, while Danny and Oliver took first place, rounding off a superb day for Warwick.
Well done to everyone involved!

Many congratulations to OW Fin Smith, who has been selected to start in England’s upcoming Six Nations match against Italy this weekend.
It is brilliant to see Fin go from strength to strength and continue to inspire so many of our young players at Warwick School, but also many young people around the country.
Best of luck Fin!

Last Friday, the Music Department was delighted to welcome Bridge Street Brass, a quintet from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, for an inspiring afternoon of music-making and collaboration.
Their lunchtime recital featured a varied programme, showcasing the expressive power and versatility of brass, and concluded with a Q&A offering insight into conservatoire life.
Pupils from several school ensembles that are all preparing for the upcoming Small Ensembles Concert, then took part in workshop rehearsals, receiving specialist coaching, before performing confidently in a showcase platform.
The day strengthened ties with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and celebrated the talent and dedication of the Brass Department. It was an uplifting end to the half-term with students representing the school with pride.
