Thank you to everyone who attended our Celebration Evening last night, and well done to those students who received awards. Thank you to guest of honour Lewis Williams, who talked about both his success and his experience with failure (and his favourite school dinner!). It was a very special evening and a lovely opportunity to celebrate just some of the many successes of students.

Myton Parent Network are holding their first pre-loved uniform sale at Myton on Tuesday 14 July, 3.30pm to 5pm!

It was Horizons Week this week at Myton - a week filled with activities designed to broaden our students’ horizons, encourage them to think differently, challenge themselves and engage in learning that builds confidence, resilience and creativity. Within lessons we’ve had guest speakers from JLR and Poet Laureate Richard Grant aka Dreadlock Alien, lego building, multi-cultural cooking and trading games. Outside of the classroom students enjoyed our first MytonBury fete, an immersive Spanish theatre performance and a number of educational visits including a trip to Drayton Manor. Well done to those students who took part in this week's Stowe Valley MAT Festival of Arts and the Stowe Valley MAT Athletics Championships. Our athletes demonstrated determination and great team spirit, whilst the creativity and confidence of our dancers shone through. All students demonstrated the high expectations and values that we are so proud of as a school!

We say farewell to Mrs Meredith at the end of this term after a fantastic 28 year career teaching at Myton. An English teacher first and foremost, an advocate of everything books, but also a passionate Drama teacher and WINGS school drama club lead. If any past or current students, parents and staff would like to share any memories or messages, please comment below, or email [email protected] and we will make sure Mrs Meredith receives these.

Just to confirm that our Year 11 prom is going ahead tomorrow, arrival time from 6.30pm with a start time of 7pm. Collection at 11pm. Thanks to a very kind offer we will now have a professional photographer at the event. Please remember to complete the photo consent form emailed to parents yesterday to provide consent for your child to be included in photos. On Monday we will be holding our first MytonBury, a student fete designed to bring together our student community and raise money for Sarcoma UK. Students will be able to enjoy plenty of activities and entertainment, including a bouncy castle, ice cream stall, face painting, glitter bar, prize-every-time games, music and more. It is a free event, but donation buckets will be available around the event and students may want to bring payment (preferably cash) for the games and stalls.
