Our specialist-led Award in Vacuum Appliance Construction is designed for registered dental care professionals who want to develop the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to construct vacuum formed retainers with confidence.

By the end of the programme, you’ll be able to safely cast and trim models, register occlusion, construct vacuum formed appliances, and maintain accurate clinical records—all while communicating effectively with patients.

Flexible Online Learning-

Isobel is the Course Coordinator at Orthodontic Team Training, where she oversees the administrative processes for student registration and ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She also organises hospitality for Orthodontic Therapist and MSc teaching days, helping to create a welcoming and professional learning environment.

Working closely with Health Education England, Isobel coordinates the registration and delivery of courses, while also building relationships and securing sponsorship to support our programmes.

Outside of work, Isobel enjoys spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren. She loves knitting, although many of her well-meaning projects are still a work in progress!

Our Award in the Construction of Vacuum Formed Retainers and Whitening Trays is designed for registered dental care professionals who want to develop their clinical knowledge and take on additional duties with confidence.

You’ll cover key topics including clinical records, infection control, anatomy, laboratory techniques, and the construction of vacuum formed appliances such as retainers and whitening trays. Support is provided throughout by our specialist orthodontic team.

Awarded by Dental Team Qualifications (DTQ), this is a practical and supportive route to career development.

Located in a beautiful Regency building in the centre of Leamington Spa, our facility combines advanced technology with dedicated training spaces to create an immersive learning environment.

Our lecture theatre seats up to thirty and connects directly to a clinical treatment room. A clinical skills laboratory with phantom heads supports hands-on development, while video conferencing enables collaboration with centres worldwide.

With seven specialised treatment rooms, advanced digital imaging including 3D CBCT, cephalometric and orthopantomograph radiography, and an on-site orthodontic laboratory, our team is equipped to deliver and refine high-quality care. A well-stocked library and full computer access support ongoing learning every day.
