Yesterday, Danette Copestake and I hosted the Digital Sovereignty Executive Series in the beautiful Lancaster Room, at RAF members only Club in London.

What made the afternoon particularly powerful was not simply the topic itself, but the calibre and honesty of the conversations in the room.

Around 19 CIOs, CEOs, founders, investors and senior leaders across the AI, cloud, data and technology sectors came together to explore a question that is becoming increasingly urgent for organisations everywhere: Who really controls your data, AI and risk when something goes wrong?

The speed of AI adoption is accelerating more rapidly, hence decisions are being made faster. Risks are emerging faster. Consequences are materialising faster.

What quickly became clear is that this is no longer just a technology conversation.
👉 It is a leadership conversation.
👉 A governance conversation.
👉 And increasingly, a geopolitical conversation.

And one comment during the discussion stayed with me, you can outsource the work, but you cannot outsource the consequence. That line captured the heart of the conversation.

Digital sovereignty is not simply about infrastructure, cloud providers or AI capability. It is deeply human, because technology alone does not create resilient organisations.
👉 People do.
👉 Operating models do.
👉 Decision-making cultures do.
👉 Governance maturity does.

One of the strongest reflections from the session was this, AI does not necessarily create entirely new risks. It compounds the risks organisations already have, often faster than they are prepared to govern them.

Which raises difficult but necessary leadership questions:
➡️ Who controls the levers when systems fail?
➡️ Who remains accountable when risks escalate or trust breaks down?
➡️ Are organisations governing AI proactively, or reacting after consequences emerge?
➡️ Do leadership teams truly understand the dependencies they are creating?

These are the conversations leaders need space to have.

A huge thank you to Danette Copestake for co-hosting, and to Richard Simon and Jay Patel for such insightful contributor sessions.

And thank you to every leader in the room who contributed openly, thoughtfully and honestly to the discussion.

Danette Copestake and I are already planning the next gathering.

If digital sovereignty, governance, AI accountability, organisational resilience and leadership under uncertainty are on your agenda, we would love to have you join us for the next conversation.

Most boards and organisations are asking the wrong question about AI. It is not How fast can we adopt it? It is, who actually controls our data, AI, and risk?

And if that question landed in your organisation or boardroom today, would you have a clear answer? Because many organisations don’t and that is the gap.

You are building AI on infrastructure you don’t fully control, using data you don’t fully govern, and exposing yourselves to risks you don’t fully see.

That is not transformation. That is exposure.

The organisations pulling ahead are doing something different. They are designing for control and Digital sovereignty first:
• Cloud (Infrastructure)
• Data (Privacy)
• Security

If you get this right, everything changes. You have less risk, faster, confident AI adoption, stronger control over decisions and systems and built-in resilience.

Stirling Development Consultants is pleased to be working in collaboration with Danette Copestake the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of HYPATIA on a private executive luncheon 6 Part series on AI & Digital Sovereignty, hosted at the Royal Air Force Club, London.

Danette brings deep expertise in AI, digital transformation, governance and risk, built across a career spanning Citibank, financial services and defence. A former Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) veteran, her military service instilled the resilience, strategic thinking and leadership that define her approach to some of today’s most complex technology challenges.

The combination of strategic insight, technical skills and real-world application is what makes this series different.

We are now launching Part 1 of the series. It is an exclusive series, designed to spark the right conversations, deliver practical answers, and support real implementation.

If this is already on your agenda, or needs to be, feel free to reach out or join us for the 1st series on Wednesday the 13th of May 2026, between 12 noon and 4pm at Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly, London.

Here is the link for registration - https://luma.com/7lgzl1sg.

We would be delighted to host you all.

No jargon. No noise. Just what works.

As promised, I never forget a promise. I said I would make this post to thank our small Stirling Development Consultants team on ground in Abuja, who did the legwork, tying up the loose ends, so that I could focus on delivery and building alliances, and here we are.

To our incredible Stirling Development Consultants team on the ground in Abuja, this one is for YOU🇳🇬.

While I stood at the front and delivered, networked, attended meetings, you all were behind the scenes making sure everything was seamless, solid, and beautiful. And I saw you all, as I was watching closely. Every single one of you. Thank you.

👉 Mr Imo Owo, our technical backbone. Steady, reliable, essential.
👉 Miss Ann & Miss Becky, our Business Development duo. Sharp, focused, and always on it. Steady with the clients.
👉 Mr Sampson, our driver extraordinaire. You kept us moving, literally.
👉 And Miss Vera, our Gen Z powerhouse, Leading Daily Operations, whatever we needed, you knew someone who had it. You are the creative, and the outspoken one. The one who kept us all on our toes. We didn't know what hit us🤣.

Thank you all for tying up the loose ends so I could focus on delivery and building alliances. That is what a team looks like.

We are now moving forward and working towards our May delivery in Nairobi and July delivery in Abuja. Let's hit the ground running again.

This is a heartfelt thank you from me here at Stirling Development Consultants.

We move.

We have just wrapped up Module 2 of our Senior Leadership Development Workshop.

Closed room. High trust. Middle to senior leaders (Grade 14–17). 7 government agencies. 2 private sector organisations.

Inside that room, the penny dropped. Leadership stopped being about the title held; it became about the system they could shape.

The shift became visible, as conversations moved beyond the surface (Chatham House rules). Scenarios reflected the real pressures leaders are navigating, with practical guidance. Peer engagement began to evolve into alliances. And leaders had the space to think, reflect, and recalibrate.

But here is what should really get your attention. By the morning of Day 2, another organisation had already heard about the workshop.

Not through a campaign. Not through a pitch deck. But through conversations. But through word of mouth. Through impact. Through the leaders already in the room.

They signed up. Paid up. Sent their delegates on Day 2 (we would run module 1 for them with the new cohort starting in the last quarter of the year).

That is what happens when the work you do speaks for itself.

I am truly grateful to the organisations that have trusted Stirling DC, to our friends and allies who continue to open doors for this work, and to the team behind the scenes and on ground who made this delivery seamless and possible (I will share a separate post to recognise my little operations and technical team).

Now, this is the part that matters for you and your organisation.
What really happens when you put senior leaders in the right room, with the right structure?
• You stop managing stakeholders and start building coalitions that move systems
• You begin to leverage influence that works when it matters
• You stop treating trust as a nice to have and start using trust as strategic capital and a valuable asset.

We now move toward Module 3 delivery at the end of July 2026, in Abuja and a nearby State.

And because of this impact, a new closed cohort is already confirmed with a different organisation.
A full 4-module programme has been commissioned, with Module 1 starting in the last quarter of this year, which will be fully contextualised to their environment, pressures, and culture.

At Stirling Development Consultants, this is our Why. We do not just deliver programmes. We build leaders who can operate, influence, and transform within complexity.

If this resonates with you, and your organisation operates in a high-stakes, regulatory, or reputation-sensitive environment, Let’s have a conversation. Not about training. But about transformation and impact.

Remember, the market cannot buy, hire or partner with what it cannot see, and extraordinary work, cannot speak for itself. You have to give it a voice. Treat it as your strategic lever.

The right people are paying attention.

Friday done right ✨
This week was FULL. Started off with delivering a DBA workshop at the University, then welcomed a new client, as we discussed workshop dates. Then finally, I wrapped up the week hosting a planning meeting with my partner organisation and our facilitators for the month-end training programme in Istanbul.

But here is what has changed for me, I have learned to pause and ground myself as the most nurturing thing I can do is to breathe, be still in gratitude, and let the weekend softly land.

So here is how I closed out my week. A spa morning with one of my closest friends. Because honoring the work I do, means softly honoring my rest too.

Finishing the week beautifully. Using my weekend to recharge for what is ahead.

How are YOU closing out your week?

12/01/2026

Hello Professionals, It is the second week of January. Many of us are returning to work or back into our businesses, carrying a quiet fear underneath it all:

What if 2026 looks exactly like 2025? Not because you did not try. Not because you are not capable. But because you are afraid of being overlooked again.

Here is the truth I want you to hear clearly: Hard work does not automatically change your position. Strategy and tactics do. It helps reposition you.

Re-Positioning is not luck. It is not waiting to be noticed. It is strategy. It is small, deliberate shifts, done on purpose.

So, before you rush into another busy week, here are some Strategic & Tactical Moves You Can Make This Week.

For Career Professionals
1. Change how you speak about your work
Stop listing tasks. Start naming outcomes, for example, instead of I work within the operations team, say, I help teams hit deadlines by improving our processes.

This week: Reframe one thing you say about your work, in a meeting, email, or check-in.

2. Control your narrative in conversations.
When someone asks, how is work? Instead of saying, oh, busy as usual or Same old, same old. Try saying, It is busy, however, I am proud of how I handled and delivered on Project XYZ this week.

This week: Prepare one sentence that shares a win calmly and confidently.

For Entrepreneurs and Business Owners
3. Clarify what you are known for.
If someone recommended you today, what would they say? Would they She does a bit of everything.
If your message is fuzzy, your income will be too.

This week: Write one clear sentence: I help ___ to achieve ___.

4. Shift from selling services to solving problems.
People do not buy what you do. They buy what it fixes.

For example, instead of saying - I offer coaching / consulting / services. Try saying, I help women turn their skills into income.

This week: Rewrite one post, your bio, or pitch focusing on the problem you solve.

Remember, you do not need a new personality. You need strategy and small tactical moves, that you do consistently.

So this week, move STRATEGICALLY. Reposition yourself.

Cheers to an amazing week.

11/01/2026

Reposition Yourself
Beautiful One, before we talk about work, business, or the week ahead, I want to start with something practical that you can actually use, starting tonight.
Most women came back to work this week with a quiet fear sitting underneath it all. The fear that this year might look exactly like the last one.

And here’s the truth I want you to hear clearly tonight:
Hard work does not automatically change your position. Strategy and tactics does.
It helps you position yourself and Positioning is not luck. It is strategy.
Before you rush into another busy week, take a soft landing with us and ask:
- How am I currently being positioned, and how do I want to be seen?

Immediate Value: The 3-Question Strategic Reset
Ask yourself these three questions and type one answer in the comments if it resonates:
1️⃣ How am I currently being seen? How are people actually describing you when you’re not in the room?
2️⃣ What am I being rewarded for right now?
3️⃣ What would change if I repositioned myself. just slightly, this week?

This week, we’re not moving randomly. We’re moving strategically. Together.

See you all next week at 7pm UK time.

First work week of the new YEAR as a business, DONE. The mornings were cold, the days were somewhat full and then snow on Thursday.

This week brought kind and resourceful people who showed up. New allies made over shared projects and unexpected conversations, but with unsettling news from across the world put everything in perspective and served as a reminder, that we need to hold space for each other, while we all navigate life.

As we head into the weekend, I am grateful. Grateful, for the momentum building under our feet. Grateful, for the connections we are making, and grateful, for every person who made this week brighter just by being themselves.

So, Cheers to the weekend and to what we have already accomplished so far.

Now? I am going to actually enjoy this weekend. Savor it. Rest in it. Let it refuel as I look forward to what is ahead.

Beautiful One ❤️, go and do the same. You have earned it. Have an amazing weekend.

04/01/2026

It is January 4th, 2026. The holidays are behind us. Tomorrow, many of us go back to work. Back to meetings. Back to emails. Back to running our businesses. Back to responsibility.

So, before the noise starts again, Before the pressure of a new week, I want you to remember this: nothing in your life will automatically improve, except you take a step in the right direction of making changes or improving.

- Your job would not suddenly value you more.
- Your business would not magically grow.

Change comes from strategic decisions and tactical actions, small, clear moves done on purpose.

This week, try this Tactical Moves:
For career professionals:
• Choose one thing that makes you visible, not just busy, for example, speak once in a meeting with intention, not permission.
• Send one email that clearly positions your value.

For business owners:
• Focus on one income-generating activity
• Follow Up with Past Clients. Re-engage to explore new opportunities
• Review your pricing or offer

These are not big, dramatic moves. They are deliberate moves and being deliberate changes outcomes.

As we step into this new week, Move strategically; Act tactically; Rest intentionally.

Remember, 2026 is not a reset. It is the same game with new strategy, new tactics, and new visibility.

Let us play it differently. Together.

Wishing you a grounded, productive, and powerful week ahead.
