Celebrating Our Lovely Grace!

Today we are incredibly proud to celebrate Grace, who is now officially a Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner!

For the past two years, Grace has worked so hard to complete her qualification alongside working within the setting, starting at Hamble then transferring to Warsash.

Balancing studying, assignments and everyday nursery life takes real commitment, and she has approached it all with determination and enthusiasm.

Throughout her qualification, we have watched Grace grow in confidence and develop so much knowledge, experience and skill, which she brings into her practice with the children every day.

Grace, we are SUPER proud of you and everything you have achieved. Your hard work has certainly paid off, and we feel very lucky to have you as part of our Early Years family.

A huge congratulations from all of us – Level 3 complete!

As part of our extra-curricular activities in Gardening Club, the children enjoyed planting their own sunflower seeds. They independently filled their pots with compost, planted and covered their seeds, and carefully watered them.

The children showed great independence, perseverance and curiosity throughout the activity. We talked about what plants need to grow, including sunlight, water and soil, and the children will continue to care for and observe their sunflowers as they grow.

We look forward to watching our sunflowers develop and learning more about the life cycle of plants!

What a truly special day we had on Saturday celebrating our wonderful Preschool children as they graduated and prepared for their next big adventure!

We were so lucky to have the lovely Jambops entertainer join us, bringing lots of fun, dancing, laughter, and excitement to this memorable occasion.

The children enjoyed a special treat before proudly walking out with their graduation bags, beaming from ear to ear as they were greeted with an endless round of applause from their families and friends.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our graduates and all they have achieved during their time with us. We wish them all the very best as they begin their exciting journey to school!

Thank you to all of our families for celebrating this special milestone with us and helping to make it such a fantastic day to remember. πŸ’•

Here at Warsash Early Years Centre, we encourage independence and confidence in everyday routines, and mealtimes are a great opportunity for children to develop these important life skills.

Children independently collect their snack, choose where to sit, and enjoy a choice of fresh fruit and savoury crackers. At lunchtime, they serve themselves using child-sized utensils, helping to build fine motor skills, coordination, confidence, and awareness of their own needs.

Shared mealtimes also encourage communication, turn-taking, patience, and a strong sense of belonging within our nursery community. 🍎

Today, the children took part in an engaging Dinosaur Number Hunt using a sensory tuff tray. The children were encouraged to explore the sensory materials, searching carefully for hidden numerals and discovering numbers as they played.

This experience provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their early mathematical skills through hands-on, meaningful play. As they found the numbers, the children were encouraged to recognise and name numerals, practise counting and begin to develop an understanding of number and quantity.

The sensory element of the activity also supported the children's Physical Development, strengthening their fine motor skills as they used their hands and fingers to explore, scoop and move the materials. It encouraged curiosity and investigation, while providing opportunities for children to develop their Communication and Language as they talked about their discoveries and shared their ideas with their friends and practitioners.

Through this experience, the children were also developing important skills such as problem-solving, concentration, turn-taking and cooperation. By following the children's interest in dinosaurs, we were able to create a fun and engaging learning experience that supported Mathematics and Understanding the Word.

This week, cars have been a huge interest for our children in the Under 3's building, so we decided to bring this interest into our mark-making experience! The children enjoyed exploring colourful paints using cars as a fun and exciting resource to create their own unique tyre tracks and marks.

The children loved watching the wheels roll through the paint and seeing the different patterns and tracks they could create on the paper. They also enjoyed exploring the paint with their hands, feeling the different textures and making their own marks.

Throughout the experience, we used lots of mathematical language such as big, small, long, short, fast, slow, more and less, supporting the children to develop their understanding of early mathematical concepts in a fun and meaningful way.

It was also a brilliant opportunity for the children to practise taking turns, sharing resources and communicating with one another. We loved hearing the children use their developing speech and language skills as they talked about what they were doing and shared their ideas with their friends.

What a wonderful, messy and creative way to follow the children's interests while supporting their learning and development!

This week the children embraced the excitement of Wednesday's big match by taking part in a variety of football-themed activities!

They loved choosing their football face paint, enjoyed friendly games of table football and practised their kicking, passing and goal-scoring skills outdoors.

Throughout the day, the children enthusiastically talked about football, recognised team colours and proudly cheered on their friends. These activities encouraged the development of their coordination, balance and ball control, while also promoting important social skills such as teamwork, taking turns, sharing equipment and celebrating each other's achievements. During table football, the children worked together, communicated effectively and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship as they celebrated every goal.

Today's experiences supported several areas of the EYFS, including Physical Development, Communication and Language, and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. Through their play, the children explored the importance of teamwork, perseverance, fair play and supporting others, while making meaningful connections to tonight's highly anticipated match.

What a wonderful day full of smiles, laughter and football fun!

Looking for more than just a job? Join our family.

At The Early Years Group, we've always believed that when our team feels valued, supported and appreciated, amazing things happen for children.

What started as one nursery has grown into six wonderful settings across Hampshire, but one thing has never changed – we're still a family-run business at heart. We know our teams personally, celebrate their successes, support them through challenges and genuinely care about their wellbeing.

We pride ourselves on creating a workplace where people love coming to work, where friendships are built, achievements are recognised, and careers are nurtured. Many of our leaders started their journey with us as practitioners and have progressed through the organisation, something we're incredibly proud of.

✨ Supportive and welcoming teams
✨ Excellent training and development opportunities
✨ Career progression within a growing organisation
✨ A culture where your voice matters
✨ A genuine family feel

We're growing and are looking for passionate, caring individuals who want to be part of something special.
If you're considering a new opportunity in early years, we'd love to have a chat and tell you more about life at The Early Years Group.

πŸ’™βœ¨ Celebrating Our Incredible Team βœ¨πŸ’™

As we approach 10 months since opening our doors, we've been reflecting on just how fortunate we are.

Building a new nursery is about so much more than creating beautiful environments – it's about finding the right people. People who share your values, your vision and your passion for giving children the very best start in life.

We can honestly say that we have been incredibly lucky to find such a wonderful team. Their dedication, kindness, hard work and commitment to our children and families has helped make our setting the special place it is today. And we are still growing, with some more team members joining in the next few months.

Every day, our team brings warmth, enthusiasm, professionalism and care, creating an environment where children thrive and families feel supported. We couldn't be prouder of everything they have achieved together in such a short space of time.

To our amazing staff team – thank you for your passion, your resilience, your laughter and your unwavering commitment. You truly are the heart of our nursery, and we are so grateful to have each and every one of you as part of our Early Years family. πŸ’™

This week, we wanted to show a little appreciation to all the wonderful grown-ups in our children's lives. At drop-off our loved ones were greeted with a sweet treat and a choice of fruit, as a small token of our gratitude and appreciation. We hope you enjoyed your treat on us as you headed off to work and that it added a little sweetness to your day! 😊

As we head into the weekend, we would like to wish all of our families a wonderful time together. Whether you're celebrating Father's Day, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying some family moments, we hope your weekend is filled with happiness, laughter, and special memories.

From all of us, have a fantastic weekend! πŸ’™
