We All Do Stupid Things

This was from the very first night of my first lads holiday to Malia and I ended up with a torn knee ligament, glass in my arm and blood everywhere

One of my mates had an accident and I tried to save his head hitting the floor, landed on a bottle and split my elbow open, I took AC Milan vest off, wrapped it around my arm and carried on for the night šŸŗ

The lady rep of the hotel followed the blood back to my room, woke me up and took me to the hospital šŸ„

I then continued to drink every night for the next 13 without calling home and I didn’t even realise you shouldn’t drink while on antibiotics

But what a holiday it was šŸ˜‚

We all do stupid things, but the main thing is learning from them so you don’t keep making them is really important

And unfortunately this is where most people make the mistake when it comes to their weight loss and fat loss results

They do the slimming clubs, the no carbs, no chocolate, juicing, fasting, baby food diet or whatever the next fad diet is

They invest effort, money and time to get the results they want

But these always end up the same way

Not sustainable, not realistic with both for their lifestyle or the time frame they set to get the results they want

Then they just end up back doing the unhealthy habits which made them unhealthy in the first place and spend months, even years gaining more weight, more body fat and becoming more unhealthy

Then when the time comes that they need or want to lose weight…

They repeat the same mistakes and hope for different this time around

We all make mistakes, but if you learn from them so you don’t keep making them…

It wasn’t a mistake, it was a lesson

The Good Old Days

We never know at the time for most things, that it would be the last time

Going out with your mates when as kids

Going out with your collage mates for drinks and the night clubs

The Saturday or Sunday football games

Last cuddle with your kids as babies

The last bed time story for them

We move that fast always looking for the next thing, most of us don’t even realise what we have in the moment

We take for granted what we have because we get sucked into the social media highlight reel and chase things which don’t actually matter when it comes to it

I’m guilty of this as we all are, and I think as you get older, you do start to realise what actually matters

I’ve never really been one for fancy things, it’s never been a thing of mine for a very long time

But it’s easy to get sucked in and forget what’s actually important

I don’t have many regrets, I’m the happiest I’ve been for a very long time and have a lot of things to be grateful for and things to look forward to

But sometimes I have to check myself and not get drawn into things which don’t matter to me

We’re all learning and making things up as we go but if you’re healthy, got a roof over you head, food in your belly and loved ones around you, you’re winning at life ā¤ļø

Big Day For Us āœļø

Today we take a massive step as a couple and our little family

Life isn’t easy

Someone said to me in work the other day that we’re like the perfect couple with how we get on, our energy etc as we both train this lady in work

And we do get on very well and this was the foundation to our relationship

I don’t move fast on certain things but I do believe this helped us to create the foundations we have today

Its definitely not be a smooth ride and she’s nearly punched me a few times with my laid back ways

But I wouldn’t want to do the journey with anyone else

We’re weeks away from the wedding and I can’t wait but if you find yourself someone who pushes you in the right direction, challenges you when you need challenging but more importantly makes you laugh and enjoy most of your days..

Dont let them go ā¤ļø

Life is much easier when you’re healthy like I always say

Stumbled On This Photo Today

This was pretty early in the 2nd gym I owned as this area became another functional area at the back and we had a basket ball net for the kids

And my kids are really young there šŸ˜‚

But as a coach, one thing which has never changed for myself is doing this for the right reasons

We all need money, it makes the world go around

But even now, 13 years later in this industry, my main thing is the clients and making sure I’m best possible coach for them

I do believe a lot of people in this industry are in it for the wrong reasons and it’s so easy to see when you come across one of here and see there posts and page

I know some amazing coaches in there 20s up to the ones in their 50s and again, you can just see straight away who is in this to help people, proper help them

Something I did as a gym owner when I took staff on and I did this very well if I do say so myself, I could see straight away who would work well and last, and who thought this would just be a quick and easy because they train a bit and enjoy looking after their own health

I do believe this is why we were so successful in doing and keeping the gym going for so long, through covid, 3 gyms and even when people followed me to pure gym to continue

You have to build proper relationships because it doesn’t matter how much money you have the bank or what fancy tools you use

This is why we did see well and attracted so many parents to us to train and get healthy because as a dad, I got it

People see through BS pretty quick and if you dont relate to them and you’re not capable of building trust and relationships quickly, they will let you know with their mouths, or when they walk

Build a solid relationship and make sure they trust you, getting results is easy then because you have time and this is where a good coach / nutritionist and your skill set comes in because it doesn’t matter if you’re a pt, if you don’t know how to relate and use the different methods with different people because they’re not all the same, you will always struggle

I miss this place and that time we had in there

Never say never, but I do miss it

I Use To Think The Gym Was Boring

At the moment, I’m in a good place and routine with my fitness and routine

Training is going well and my food is consistent for most of the week using the simple T2 method

It makes keeping to the nutrition simple and easy to follow because it’s set and its meals I enjoy

I use to get so bored in the gym 😓

I would never really feel that amazing feeling after I was done like a lot talked about

I know why know and addressing this and getting a plan around it has massively helped me over the last 12 weeks

But then outside of the gym, I’ve kept myself busy with steps

And making sure I’m going for a kick about with my lad and my brother and his son most weeks

It’s fun, it’s memories and it’s activity

You don’t have to have this super strict plan to get healthy and to drop body fat

But you have to lift weights for your health

Then find hobbies and activities you enjoy doing

There’s nothing worse than trying to follow a nutrition and fitness plan you don’t even look forward to doing, never mind actually doing it

I Feel Old šŸ‘“

This is what a guy said to me on Wednesday when we had a chat about his goals and where he was right now

Said he use to love playing footy

Said he played most of his life

But when work and life got in the way, his own health slipped down the priority list

This is normal and what a lot of adults fell into

Life isn’t it

Life for most is busy with work, kids, relationships and everything that’s chucked at us on a weekly and monthly basis

But everything is easier when you’re healthier

The Perfect Time

The sun comes out and it is a great time to catch up on those garden jobs with painting the fences, moving the lawn, getting out in the sun and getting things done šŸ‘

But when it comes to your health

There’s never going to be a perfect time

So many people say work is just busy at the moment so il get on it when it calms down

I’ve got a few things planned in the next couple of weeks so il get on it when I’ve done them

But life never slows down and your job will always be there unless you’re going quite

These are excuses, not reasons for you not starting to get healthy

You don’t just prioritise your health enough right now and that’s ok, that’s your choice

But don’t think there’s ever a perfect time

Because you likely said this back in January and how are those goals going as we head into June?

Summer Is Coming ā˜€ļø

It’s not long and this weather definitely gets you thinking more about those summer holidays

I spoke with a lady who said she doesn’t enjoy this weather as much as she wished we could because she didn’t feel comfortable in her body to wear her summer clothes (I asked her if I could share this to help others)

But this is so common, amongst ladies and men

I also went through this for a few years when I didn’t have a 6 pack anymore and someone who’s always struggled with their own body, not being super lean and with no support around it, I quickly went downhill with my mindset and behaviours / habits to try and get lean again

You should always be comfortable in your body and your health should be your main priority because saying it is much easier than doing it, I get that

But a common mistake most make is waiting for 4 weeks before a holiday to do something

This is where the mindset has to change

It has to become about proper long term health and not just a holiday

It has to be realistic and the methods you choose have to be sustainable to you and you lifestyle

I get we all want quick…

But unfortunately quick for most doesn’t last enough to see any real results but sets you back even further when you go back to the unhealthy habits and behaviours which made you unhealthy in the first place
