Less screen time for our little ones gives them much more opportunity to learn, develop and build positive relationships 💜

Today we said goodbye to our remaining kindergarten children as they finished their final day with us before heading off to big school!

What a journey it has been! From those first steps through our doors to the confident, kind, funny and independent children you are today, we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.

We have watched you grow, learn, build friendships, overcome challenges, find your voices and created so many memories along the way. You have filled our nursery with laughter, love and plenty of unforgettable moments!

Although we will miss your smiling faces, we are so excited to see what the next chapter brings for you all. Remember to be brave, be kind, keep smiling and always believe in yourself.

Thank you for letting us be a little part of your journey. We hope you carry lots of happy memories of nursery with you wherever you go.

Good luck at big school, our little superstars! 🌟🎓

Screen time! How much is too much and what else can we do with our little ones, in replace of screens, to help develop their early learning:

📚 Read together — even the same book over and over. Ask, “What do you think happens next?”
🗣️ Talk, talk, talk — describe what you're doing: “We're washing the red cup. It's wet!” This builds vocabulary naturally.
🎵 Sing nursery rhymes — songs help with language, memory, rhythm and listening.
🧸 Pretend play — tea parties, toy doctors, shops, farms or making teddy “go to bed” encourage imagination and language.
🧩 Puzzles & sorting — colours, shapes, matching socks, building blocks and simple puzzles develop problem-solving.
🎨 Messy/sensory play — water, playdough, sand, rice, bubbles or safe household objects. Let them explore rather than worrying about making it “educational.”
🌳 Get outside — running, climbing, kicking a ball, collecting leaves and spotting birds build coordination while encouraging curiosity. The NHS specifically recommends activities such as parks, balls and sensory play. �

🍎 Let them help with everyday jobs — counting fruit, stirring ingredients, putting washing into colours, matching socks or setting the table. That's maths, language and independence disguised as play!

🌿 There's nothing better than learning outdoors! Fresh air and outdoor play support children's physical development, wellbeing, and confidence, while sharing stories, recognising signs, and exploring nature together helps build early literacy skills.

Every outdoor adventure is a chance to learn! 🌞📚🍃
