Meet Amy Townley, our new Subject Leader for Performing Arts! 🎭

With a Master's degree in Musical Theatre, a PGCE specialising in Drama, and over five years' experience teaching Performing Arts and Dance, Amy is bringing a wealth of knowledge and industry insight to Warrington & Vale Royal College.

From directing theatre productions and teaching overseas in Italy to mentoring aspiring performers across the UK, Amy is passionate about helping students develop their confidence, creativity, and performance skills.

“My favourite part about teaching is that our Performing Arts and Dance departments work as one big company, fostering collaboration, confidence, and a shared passion for performance whilst ensuring students enjoy every step of their learning journey!”

Meet Laura Plowman, our new Military & Emergency Services Lecturer! 🎖️

Laura knows exactly what it's like to study at Warrington & Vale Royal College because she was once a military & emergency services student here herself.

After completing her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, Laura went on to build a 14-year career with Greater Manchester Police, working as a Call Handler, Radio Operator, and Police Constable, with experience spanning frontline response and safeguarding roles.

Now, she's bringing that real-world knowledge into the classroom to help students develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for careers in the military and emergency services.
