We have started our new Mini Beasts topic this afternoon.

We spent lots of time outside exploring and seeing what mini beasts we could find.

We had a great day of exploring and learning today 😊

Yesterday we spent some time looking back through our phonics books.

The children compared their writing from the start of the year with the writing they have done today, and it was great to see how much progress they have made!

It was lovely to hear them confidently explaining how their writing has improved.

Today Mr Williams brought in his scuba diving equipment to show the children, which they were really interested in exploring and learning about.

This sparked lots of discussion about sunken treasure, linking nicely to our literacy work on pirates. 🏴‍☠️

This afternoon we learnt about what plants need to survive, and the children each planted their own sunflower seed in a named pot.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be looking after them and hopefully watching them grow. 🌻

This afternoon in science, we continued our focus on the weather.

We talked about wind, what it feels like, and how we can find out which way it is blowing. 💨

The children were all challenged to make their own kites and test them outside. 🪁
