We’ve been proud to take part in the Aldridge Literary Festival at UTC Warrington, a brilliant celebration of reading, writing, creativity and storytelling across our school community.
Students got involved in three key challenges: a Write-athon, a Flash Fiction Challenge, and a Book Cover Challenge. It was great to see students putting real thought into their ideas, taking creative risks, and producing work they were proud of.
Selected entries will now be shared across the Trust, with the best pieces featured in an anthology and the winning book cover published as the official cover.
Well done to everyone who took part!!✨

Yesterday we marked International Women’s Day, celebrating the achievements of women and girls at UTC Warrington and beyond.
We’re proud to support an inclusive community where every student is encouraged to be confident, ambitious and future-ready — in engineering, science, digital and whatever path they choose.

Huge well done to our UTC Warrington STEM Racing Team for an incredible performance at the North West Regional Finals 🏁
The team represented UTCW brilliantly - showcasing their hard work, teamwork and attention to detail across their display, design process and final outcomes. Coming away with two awards is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the students involved.

Our Year 13 T Level Engineering students have been practising their welding ahead of their upcoming exams. They’ve been working on improving consistency and finish, while keeping safety and focus at the centre of every session. Great effort and progress throughout.

A huge well done to our students who were specially selected by to take part in an engineering project day based on real processes from the nuclear industry.
Led by engineers Martin and James, students designed and built a device to pick up objects and place them accurately — operated remotely from the “clean” side of a wall, retrieving “waste” from the “dirty” side and moving it into a clean skip.
Each group then presented their solution to Martin and James. The winning team, plus several students recognised for their professional behaviours, have been invited to Sellafield’s offices for a day of work experience.
A huge thank you to for giving our students such a valuable, real-world challenge and for supporting their next steps.

Next Friday, students are invited to come to school in their own clothes instead of uniform to help raise awareness for Children’s Mental Health Week. We’re asking for a small voluntary donation (minimum £1), with all money raised going to children’s mental health charities.
Thank you for your support!✨

National Apprenticeship Week is all about real opportunities — and today is Employer Tuesday.
At UTC Warrington, our students don’t just learn about careers, they build them. Through employer projects and industry insight, students gain the confidence, skills and professional feedback that make a real difference when they apply for apprenticeships, T Levels or college routes.

Mental Health Week is a great reminder that looking after our wellbeing matters just as much as our learning.
This week at UTC Warrington, we’re encouraging students to take small, practical steps that make a big difference — checking in with someone, taking a break when needed, speaking to a trusted adult, and using healthy routines to manage stress.
If you or your child needs support, please don’t wait — reach out to a member of staff and we will help. We’re here to support every student to feel safe, supported and ready to thrive 😄✨

It’s National Apprenticeship Week — a great chance to celebrate the real career opportunities apprenticeships create for young people.
At UTC Warrington, we’re proud to offer pathways that prepare students for the workplace through specialist learning, hands-on projects and strong links with employers. From T Levels and our Pre-Apprenticeship programme to practical experiences that build confidence, communication and industry-ready skills — we focus on helping students move into the right next step: an apprenticeship, further study, or employment.
Apprenticeships matter because they combine earning and learning, giving young people a clear route into skilled roles and long-term careers.
If you’re considering Year 10 or Year 12 entry, we’d love to support you in finding the right pathway!
