🌼 Bawming the Thorn – Saturday 20th June 2026! 🌼
Join us in Appleton Thorn for one of Cheshire’s most unique and historic village traditions!
The fun begins at 12pm at Appleton Thorn Primary School, where we’ll gather for the Samba parade — and you’re invited to take part! 🎉
👉 Join the FREE community Samba workshop at Appleton Thorn Primary School before the parade and march with us to the Thorn tree!
At the tree, the children will decorate the Thorn Tree with flowers and ribbons, dance around it, the village choir will lead everyone in singing the traditional Bawming Song. 🎶
Then it’s back to school for Bawmfest from 1pm: live music, food, stalls, performances, and family fun all afternoon. 🍔🎵
✨ Everyone is welcome — come celebrate heritage, music, and community spirit with a vibrant Samba beat!

Dear Parents and Community,

We are delighted to share some exciting news! Thanks to your generosity in purchasing raffle tickets and performance tickets, we have been able to invest in new equipment that will make a real difference to our school events.

Your support has enabled us to purchase a portable speaker and microphone system for our choir, events and school gatherings, as well as a new stage lights control desk to enhance our school plays and musical concerts.

This achievement was made possible by combining these funds with the generous donation from The Thorn Inn Christmas Raffle. A heartfelt thank you to The Thorn Inn and all its patrons who contributed by buying a ticket.

Your continued support helps us create memorable experiences for our pupils and the wider community. We truly appreciate everything you do to make our school thrive!

This week Year 3 and 4 took part in a rugby session, led by a coach from Warrington Wolves. These weekly lessons help to develop core skills and teamwork and are great fun!

🎶 A Heartfelt Thank You for a Memorable Carol Concert! 🎶

Our recent Carol Concert, led by our talented Year 5 and 6 pupils, was a resounding success! The evening was filled with beautiful instrumental performances, stunning vocal solos, and heartfelt readings of Bible passages that truly captured the spirit of the season.

It was wonderful to see so many families come together to support our students and celebrate their hard work and creativity. The dedication and talent displayed by our young performers made the night truly special.
