Today at Holyrood Warrington to celebrate international picnic day our toddlers made some sandwiches. We enjoyed them together out in the garden surrounded by the sunshine 🌞 We had a lot of fun being independent and choosing what we'd like to have on our sandwiches. Hope you're having a lovely international picnic day too!

Today the toddlers took part in activity to celebrate Democracy Day in Nigeria. The children were introduced to the idea of making choices and having their voices heard.
The toddlers were given the opportunity to vote on different parts of their day, including whether they would like to have their snack indoors or outside. They cast their votes by placing their ballot in the chosen box. Well done toddlers!
Today, the preschool children took part in a sensory activity inspired by our focus book, We're Going on a Bear Hunt. The children explored a variety of trays filled with different materials, representing some of the environments from the story.
As the children stepped into each tray they used a range of adjectives such as "cold," "slippery," and "soft".
The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the different textures and engaging their senses as they retold parts of the story through play.

Preschool took part in an experiment using milk and food coloring. Using pipettes the children added different colours to the milk to see what happened.
Today, our toddlers enjoyed a wonderful activity all about families! Through photos, discussions and creative artwork, the children explored the many different ways families can be made.
We talked about how every family is unique. We celebrated the idea that what makes a family special is the love, care, and support family members share with one another.
The children created a rainbow of love by gluing different coloured hearts onto a rainbow shape. This activity helped promote inclusion, respect, and a sense of belonging while encouraging communication and self-expression.
The colour monster is a firm favourite across our setting. Our practitioners use the colour monster from babies through to preschool to support our children with their emotions.

This week in Preschool Cookery Class, the children enjoyed making their own hummus. They worked together to measure, mix, and blend the ingredients, developing their teamwork and communication skills. The children had the opportunity to use new kitchen tools safely and confidently while exploring a variety of smells, textures, and tastes throughout the activity. As we begin our exciting topic on Egypt over the next few weeks, making hummus provided a wonderful introduction to foods from different cultures and encouraged curiosity about the world around us 👩🍳👨🍳
