Our Year 4 children have thoroughly enjoyed their Design and Technology unit on linkages and levers. They explored a range of different linkage mechanisms and investigated how they can be used to create movement in products.
Using their knowledge and creativity, the children then designed and made their own toys featuring a lazy tong linkage. They demonstrated fantastic problem-solving skills, perseverance, and attention to detail throughout the project.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work and the impressive products they created. Well done, Year 4!

Reception have started their new topic for the last half term, The Seaside! We’ve had lots of fun in Butterflies this week, making lighthouses in construction and at the craft table, exploring our new ice cream shop roleplay, enjoying the sunny weather at the beginning of the week and of course lots of independent writing! We have been reading the story ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ and even made our own sandwiches which we enjoyed eating altogether! What a fantastic first week back ❤️🦋🌊⛱️🐚🦀⛵️🍦

Year 3N visited Brampton Lodge Care Home today. It was a lovely opportunity for the children to spend time with the residents and to continue building the positive relationships that have been developing throughout the year. At Christmas time, we made the residents Christmas cards, and in the spring term, we wrote letters to them about our school. Today, it was wonderful to finally visit in person and share our learning, read to them and hold interesting conversations with them. During our visit, we listened carefully, showed kindness and enjoyed meaningful conversations. We even performed some songs that we have been learning in class, and it was clear that everyone appreciated the children’s confidence and enthusiasm.
The children represented our school very well and were thoughtful, polite and respectful throughout. It was lovely to see everyone getting on so well and enjoying each other’s company. Experiences like this are so valuable, as they help children understand the importance of community and give them the opportunity to see how other small communities live in our local area. We are very proud of Year 3N for showing such care, maturity and warmth during this visit.
Thank you for all being amazing this afternoon (class sticker!) and a special thank you to our parent helpers.

Year 6 had a fantastic time dissecting lambs' hearts in class this week as we launched our new science topic on the circulatory system.
The children were incredibly engaged, curious and respectful throughout the session, making the most of this hands-on learning experience.
We were also incredibly lucky to welcome back Mr Cleary, a local vet and former parent of the school, who joined us to share his expertise. We think this must be around his tenth year of supporting this curriculum learning, and we are so grateful for his continued generosity and enthusiasm.
A huge thank you, Mr Cleary, for helping to bring our learning to life!
