Watched all morning and finally Mr P and Jam pop up on the BBC! Go Jam 🦖
We’re SO proud to be cheering on Mr P in the London Marathon tomorrow… alongside a very special runner 🦖💚
That’s right, Jam from Teach Rex is set to become the first dinosaur EVER to run a marathon! What an incredible moment!
It makes it even more special knowing that Joe Parsonage began his teaching journey right here at Oakwood Avenue. Inspired by our creative curriculum, he went on to bring the amazing Teach Rex to life and what a journey it’s been!
At a time when the curriculum can feel packed and overwhelming, we’re proud to champion creativity, imagination and unforgettable learning experiences. Our staff go above and beyond to bring lessons to life and create memories that last a lifetime.
And the adventure doesn’t stop there… 👀
We’ve got a brand new character arriving soon to join Oaky on his quest for learning and adventure!
Watch this space… or the magical Oakyway Tree 🌳💚, Mrs Reilly (who, just for today, will be cheering on City… sorry to all other fans 🙈🩵 — and if we get beat, I’m sure the grandads and our Chelsea fan dad will be ready to remind me at the gate on Monday morning! 😂)

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our remarkable students, Mathilda Wells, who has been awarded the Courage Award at the Warrington Guardian Awards last night.
This award recognises individuals who have shown exceptional bravery in the face of adversity or gone above and beyond to support others. Mathilda truly embodies this spirit.
Towards the end of 2024, Mathilda suffered from a ruptured arterio venous malformation (AVM) that caused a bleed on her brain. She had life-saving surgery on the clot on her brain, which caused her to have a stroke. Mathilda showed extraordinary strength and determination by returning to school within the same academic year. Not only did she overcome such a significant challenge, but she also went on to achieve Pupil of the Year 2025—a testament to her resilience, positivity and unwavering commitment.
Mathilda is an absolute joy to have in our school. She brightens our day with her incredible sense of humour - you simply cannot help but smile when you are around her.
We would also like to recognise and thank her family, whose love and support have played such an important role in helping Mathilda return to normal life and continue to thrive. And Mrs Reilly knows Gemma will have cried happy tears last night!
Congratulations, Mathilda we could not be prouder of your achievements and this well-deserved recognition. You are an inspiration to us all.

🎉 Bounceathon Fundraiser is coming! 🎉
Following the huge success of last year’s Scootathon, we’re excited to hold our Bounceathon event to raise funds for OPaL play! 💚
📅 Friday 26th June
📍 School Playground
Children are invited to bring something to bounce on (like a space hopper or pogo stick) and take part in fun, active sessions throughout the day. Don’t worry if they don’t have anything—there will be plenty of bouncing activities for everyone!
We’re raising money to further enhance our outdoor play, including large sand pits and digging equipment for the hill.
💰 How to donate:
Family and friends can sponsor your child per bounce, or simply donate £1 to take part.
👉 Donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/oakybounceathon, on ParentPay or cash on the day.
Thank you for your continued support—we can’t wait to see everyone bouncing their way to success! 🌟

We would apologise for the OPaL Play Overload but ‘sorry not sorry’ 😂 Nothing like spreading a sprinkle of joy; a sparkle of pizazz; a splattering of happiness & a dusting of fun! Their smiles say it all - children doing what children should be doing beyond the realms of the classroom … playing & laughing with each other!
