We're delighted to share this testimonial from one of our newer members, who joined Warrington Toastmasters just a couple of months ago and has already seen a positive impact on confidence, communication, and public speaking skills.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I joined Warrington Toastmasters around two months ago and Iโve barely missed a session since.
I originally joined because I wanted to become more confident speaking in bigger group settings, owning the space a little more and feeling comfortable presenting, motivating clients and speaking both in person and on Zoom as part of my work.
Before joining, public speaking was not really something I was doing at all, so finding a group where everyone is genuinely friendly, supportive and wants you to improve has been amazing. I honestly could not have landed with a better group.
Even in a short space of time, Iโve noticed improvements in my eye contact, presence and the way I show up in front of people. Iโm someone who can overthink things, so having somewhere every week where I can just get up, speak and practise has been huge for me.
I look at it a bit like going to the gym. Public speaking is another muscle. You get the reps in, you get feedback, you work on it, then you come back the following week a little bit better.
That is probably what I enjoy most about Warrington Toastmasters. The people, the atmosphere and the feedback are all brilliant. Everyone wants you to do well, but they will also give you the critical feedback you need so you can actually go away and execute on it.
It has helped outside the club too, particularly with how confident I feel in bigger social settings and when speaking in front of groups.
I would recommend Warrington Toastmasters to anyone who wants to improve their public speaking, communication or social confidence, or simply become a more well rounded speaker. You can practise speeches, try new things, get honest feedback and meet a genuinely great group of people at the same time.
I definitely feel like I struck gold joining Warrington. Iโm glad I ended up there and after only a couple of months, I already feel like Iโve got a friend in everyone in the room.
For me, joining was a no brainer.
