Over the past few months, our Teaching and Learning Student Leaders from Years 9 and 10 have been working alongside Year 7 students to help them prepare for their end-of-year KAST assessments.
Last week, our student leaders designed and delivered maths revision activities based on the Year 7 revision topics, guiding students through different question types and sharing valuable strategies to build confidence and understanding.
It was great to see our student leaders taking on this responsibility and using their own experience to support younger students with their revision. Well done to everyone involved!π

Our Year 10 Geography students recently visited Loggerheads, North Wales, to carry out fieldwork investigating how river characteristics change downstream.
Measuring width, depth and velocity at different points along the river gave students valuable hands-on experience of collecting and analysing geographical data.
A fantastic day of learning in the field! πΏππ

With the OCR iMedia examination taking place on Monday 8 June, we are offering a final revision session on Saturday 6 June from 9:30am to 12:00pm.
This session provides a valuable final opportunity for students to receive targeted support before the exam and could make a significant difference to their overall performance. During the session, we will focus on:
β’ Developing effective responses to the 9-mark extended-answer questions
β’ Reviewing and improving planning documents
β’ Revising key jobs and roles within the media industry
β’ Strengthening understanding of production processes
β’ Consolidating knowledge of legal issues and legislation
Students will have the opportunity to practise exam-style questions, address any misconceptions, and build their confidence ahead of the examination.
We strongly encourage all students to attend and take advantage of this final revision opportunity. Every mark counts, and this session is designed to help students maximise their potential and approach the exam with confidence.

π’ Uniform Update for September 2026
Thank you to all parents and carers who took part in our recent uniform consultation. We were delighted to receive such a high number of responses and greatly appreciate the feedback and suggestions shared.
Following the consultation, three key changes will be introduced from September:
β
Blazers will no longer be compulsory
Students may continue to wear a blazer if they wish, but it will no longer be mandatory. Students not wearing a blazer must wear the school navy V-neck jumper.
β
PE kit can be worn all day on PE days
Students will be able to wear their PE kit throughout the school day when PE is on their timetable, reducing the need for changing during the school day.
β
All-black leather trainers will be permitted
Alongside traditional black leather school shoes, students may wear plain all-black leather trainers. Further guidance and examples will be shared on our website next half term.
In addition, we are updating our approach to hair colour. Students with extreme hair dye colours will no longer receive an βOn Trackβ consequence. Instead, they will be given a reasonable timeframe to return their hair to a more natural colour. Other dyed hair colours that are not considered extreme will now be acceptable.
Thank you again for your continued support and engagement. We hope everyone has had a restful half-term break and we look forward to a positive and successful final half term of the academic year.
