SIBLING DAY ☀️

We had a wonderful morning today celebrating brothers and sisters. Some siblings we welcomed into Nursery, others we welcomed back, and some only had to travel across the corridor…

It was so special to see all of the beautiful bonds between siblings, and to watch them be shared with friends at Nursery. 🥰

While looking out of the nursery window, the children noticed a police officer standing outside with what looked like a camera.
As the children were very interested in what the officer was doing, we decided to go outside to speak with him. The officer explained that he was using a speed gun to check how fast cars were travelling and that this helps keep people safe on the road.
Following this visit, the children were inspired to become police officers themselves.
Once they were ready, we went outside with their cameras to check that everyone was driving safely. The children carefully watched the cars and used their signs to remind drivers to slow down. Most drivers were following the rules, but a few were spotted driving too fast and the children decided they needed to be given a speeding fine.
The children showed great enthusiasm during this activity and demonstrated their understanding of community roles and road safety.

Last week we celebrated Holi Festival where we explored colour and celebration. The children were given eco-friendly paint powder and white t-shirts to decorate. They excitedly threw the coloured powder into the air and at each other, watching as the colours spread and mixed.

In preparation for the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend, the children have been helping to make our garden more bird-friendly. Together, we created a variety of bird feeders and discussed how these attract birds by providing a source of food. The children showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the activity, sharing their ideas about the different birds they might see.
The bird feeders worked well, and the children’s excitement was lovely to see as we observed many birds visiting our garden this afternoon. This supported the children’s understanding of the natural world while encouraging careful observation and respect for living things. Thank you to for the inspiration 🐦

💫 Day 2 of Christmas cheer 💫. Today we made biscuits for our families. While we were baking, we talked about how important our families and loved ones are to us, especially at Christmas. Christmas is a time to spend together, show kindness, and appreciate the people who care for us. Making biscuits was a special way to say thank you and share love with our families.

Day 6 of Christmas cheer 🎄
Our new coffee machine will be ready for all our wonderful staff tomorrow, a little treat to say thank you.
I just want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all your hard work throughout the year. You truly are an amazing team, and the children are so lucky to have you.
You show up every single day with care, dedication, and positivity, and it really does make a difference. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and I am so grateful for everything you do.

🌲 Day 7 of spreading Christmas joy 🌲 Today we sent some donations to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital 💫
A fidget box for CAMHS,
a dog selection box for the therapy dog who has recently had an operation,
Christmas bedding for the beds,
and some biscuits for the amazing staff.

Thinking of all the families in hospital this Christmas 💙
