Get someone to test you!
You can spend all the hours in the world making beautiful posters, high lighting key words, making nice revision cards…. But how do you know you actually know your facts?

Turn your notes into question and answer cards!! Get someone to test you… or turn your cards into quiz questions for a board game!

If anyone wants any more advice on how to revise for your Scienxe exams, please contact me 😊.

GCSE Science revision tips…
Pupils find revision hard. Over the next few weeks I’ll be offering some advice on where to start and some different techniques.

1. Get hold of the specification!!!

Find out what Exam Board your school is using and download the specification from the website.

It’s a long document and seems daunting at first. But read through it slowly, take it section by section, and you will see that it esentially contains all the notes you need!

Use this in conjunction with any revision guides and you have all the information you need!

Tip 2…Invite curiosity.

Science learning begins with curiosity. Observations and questions can create a climate of discovery – key to scientific learning. Children can learn a lot about science in every day situations . Let your child ask their own questions but you can also stimulate curiosity. For instance, when seeing a rubber duck float in the water, invite them to think by saying, ā€œI wonder if the soap will also float?" See what questions they asks and what experiments they tries.

A lot of people have the opinion ā€œscience is hardā€.

Over the next few days I will be sharing hints and tips on how you can help to support your child with their Science, regardless of their age!

Tip one…
Science is all about questions and how the world works! Enjoy discussing the questions your child asks. Encourage them to share their perspective and observations!
