Could not believe these photos when they came in

Some huge differences from one of my girls and I couldn’t be prouder 🥹

This girls journey has not been linear right from the get go - which makes these photos even more special

A lot has happened personally to her and to be honest would make most forget themselves and hold off their health

𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙡 👏🏽

Throughout the hard times, she’s been consistent with what she 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 do - instead of being frustrated with what she 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻’𝘁 do

She’s kept communicating with me, and we adapted to ensure she was still working on herself 🫶🏽

She has ditched the “𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜” mentality - and instead focuses on “𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜” 🎯

Now don’t get me wrong - there’s nothing wrong with the odd Chinese because I know for a fact that restriction doesn’t last long term ✖️

But if you’re trying to stick to your calorie deficit - or save some money - here’s what I had this weekend and it tasted 𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 👇🏽

𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 & 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 📸

When you’re scrolling through Instagram and see someone’s “before and after” photos - you’re desperate to achieve the same, right? 🙏🏽

But here’s the thing - 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩 📸

These photos for me are taken around 10-12 years apart

Not months - 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 ⏳

I’m not saying it will take you years to get your results. What I’m saying is it took me a long time to get these results - 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 🤝🏽

(Don’t get me wrong I’ve still got my goals in place but I now have the knowledge + patience to know it takes time)

I did everything you can name:

🙅🏽‍♀️ Slimming Cults

💊 Slimming pills

🥤 Weight loss shakes, potions, detoxes

But it wasn’t until I became educated around a healthy lifestyle that my results truly came - and have stayed

The photos don’t show me tackling my binge eating

The photos don’t show me having tough days when I couldn’t be arsed anymore

The photos don’t show the months where I seen zero progress and wanted to give up

🍫 I eat chocolate every day

🍕 I eat pizza with my daughter

𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝘀 + 𝗙𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘀 🤔

This is one of the most common things I hear when speaking to people on the gym floor

🍞 I’m going to give up bread

😷 I need to give up carbs

🍴 I’m reducing my carbs to lose weight

But will giving carbs up help you lose fat?

𝗡𝗢 ✖️

𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 ✔️

Carbs are great for energy, and if you enjoy them - what’s the use in giving them up for a week like you always do then going back to them? 🙃

You could give up carbs, eat in a calorie surplus and still GAIN weight - because it’s allll about calories

Why don’t you try this instead if you’re looking for fat loss:

🔢 Find out what your calorie deficit is (Message over “ᴄᴀʟᴏʀɪᴇꜱ” and I will help you with this)

🍽️ Plan your meals so you’re getting a good mixture of veg/fruit, protein and include your favourite carbs

😈 Stop demonising food and labelling them “good” or “bad”

Trust me when I say the above 👆🏽 will make you get results longer term (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘳) than binning the bread because you will become 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 and not be 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 🤍

Also if you want energy to run after your kids, if you want to incorporate exercise and if you want to not hate your life - carbs are needed 🙌🏽

𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗕𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 🫵🏽

Oh 𝘪𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 the journey of getting healthy was straight forward

I wouldn’t have a job 🥲

Here’s the boring facts about getting healthy:

❌ No-ones progress is linear

🔢 Weight WILL fluctuate

🫵🏽 It does require effort

🥗 You don’t have to live and breathe salad/the gym

🤷🏽‍♀️ Not every day will go how you want it to

⏰ It takes 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 to work on habits - but 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 to actually build and incorporate them as part of your lifestyle

Every day you have a s**t day at work, do you quit?

You deal with it, and go back in the next day

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 👏🏽

On the days that don’t go to plan, p**s you off, feel like you can’t do it - you have a breather and go back into it the next day

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼? 👀

Amazing difference in these photos, and so well deserved 👏🏽

👀 Did she extreme detox?

👀 Did she take Susan’s fat burning tablets?

👀 Did she do 45 sit ups on the hour every hour?

Obviously not.

𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙙…

💪🏽 Found a form of exercise she enjoyed, and started going for longer walks

🍽️ Became more educated around nutrition, meaning she made healthier choices but did not restrict

⏰ Knew that results take time, so was patient and got her head down

All of the above meant she was consistent, as she enjoyed the exercise and wasn’t on a diet

Everyone wants that “toned” look

*𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 - 𝘢 “𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥” 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘴

But people do this one thing and it is the complete opposite of what they should be doing…

You know me, I love a class 🕺🏽

There are so many benefits such as getting you back into exercise, the group environment, the atmosphere etc

But lifting tiny plates or doing star jumps is NOT going to get you that increase in muscle mass that you need to get that “toned” look you want 💪🏽

Also, doing hours upon hours of classes per evening won’t get you it either

It’s about training 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Not 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Most of us have been stuck in one (𝘔𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘥 🙋🏽‍♀️)

And it never, ever ends well 😔

A bad relationship with nutrition is tough to break - but not impossible

Trust me when I say my girls - plus the many people I’ve helped over the years - have become educated around living a balanced lifestyle 🫶🏽

In order to bulk, it takes a hell of a lot more than just upping your protein intake

And ladies, don’t afraid of “looking like a man” - you need testosterone for that (𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘢 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘩 🧔🏽‍♀️)

As a coach, it’s my job to encourage people to stay consistent on their journey

But the biggest key difference between me and all the other personal trainers Amy has tried…

𝙃𝙚𝙧 𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙎𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙀𝘿 ✨

She didn’t want the pressure of counting calories - so we didn’t do it

We didn’t feel weighing her would be beneficial - so we didn’t do it

We had to work her program a lot around injuries so a typical gym plan has failed her in the past

Consistency on a health journey is all about enjoying the path you’re on, and having small term goals that are actually 𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 🎯

A strong end to the year awaits her - and a lot more yapping in our sessions followed by “𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘴” 🤐
