I was done trying to please everyone.
After trying my hardest to be the perfect daughter, partner, friend… to keep everyone else happy while quietly feeling lost and tired, I almost gave up all hope.
But then, I came across the work of Louise Hay. Something in her words rang true. It was like she was speaking right to that part of me I’d been ignoring — the part that just wanted to be loved for being me.
That gave me the hope I needed...
To believe that maybe filling that deep emptiness inside was possible.
That there was another way — one where I could feel loved and free, the things I had been look for all along.
I repeated the words “I love and accept myself” — again and again, hundreds of times, whenever I remembered - mornings, evenings, when I was doing the dishes or when I was walking my dogs.
And I slowly started seeing the change.
Not only was I kinder and more patient, more accepting of myself, but also I was of others.
I discovered the secret to getting free from guilt, shame, and all that inner noise: it wasn’t about fixing myself and it definitely wasn't about being someone who I wasn't or pleasing others— it was about loving myself.
It became clear to me that I wasn’t broken. I was just never taught how to listen to my own voice.
That’s when I realised it really was possible to stop living for everyone else and start living the way I actually wanted.
And I did. I’ve built a life that feels like me — calm, cosy, a bit messy sometimes, but true. That’s what freedom feels like to me.
And now? I’ve dedicated my whole life to paying it forward. Because every woman deserves to know that freedom isn’t something you earn — it’s something you remember.
And to bring more harmony into our world — because if we’re not in harmony with ourselves, how can we bring that quality in anywhere else?
