I saw a post over the summer from .g.ks1 and her mark making boards and new I had to make some. I got these boards from The Range. They were in the sale for £2 each and I thought they were great as they had a good size handle and thought they would be perfect for the children to carry. I used Baker Ross | Kids’ Craft Kits & Free Craft Ideas chalk paint to cover the design. When they were dried I used a white POSCA UK | PAINT MARKERS pen to draw on some line patterns. What a gorgeous and busy first few days back in school. We have been prioritising getting to know the children and build the relationships. This has been a lovely activity for them to explore in the maths area and has prompted lots of conversations about who lives in their houses too.

In EYFS, strong relationships come before everything else. When children feel safe, valued, heard and loved, they feel confident to explore, play, take risks and learn.
✨ Connect before you correct.

Today the children have had a French themed day across school. In Reception, We set up a little artist inspired provocation in the light area to explore the artist Monet. We used PowerPoint with the children first to show his work and discussed techniques. The children then created their own version and were very proud to take them home.
