Gorgeous afternoon at forest school today. We made mud paint and searched for different shaped leaves to use to create some relief art.

This week we have been exploring all things under the sea. I wanted the children to be able to explore and see a fish up close. I went to the fishmongers and got the biggest one I could find. To say they were fascinated was an understatement. We took pictures of it up close, they wrote labels, they sat and drew pictures and we had lots of discussions about the physical features that they could see up close.
The only downside was our classroom was very stinky.

Reception loved making these loose parts pictures this week. Lots of gorgeous discussions about the sea creatures and why they were putting things in particular places.

Our fine motor area in the classroom is changed weekly with a focused activity but it does have things that the children can also access independently too.
