A PARENTS GUIDE TO ADHD - This supportive and practical workshop, delivered by Lynsey Thorniley from Sycamore Send Support Services, is designed to help families better understand ADHD and feel confident supporting their child. You will leave with realistic, compassionate strategies that reduce conflict, build connection, and support your child's strengths, not just manage their challenges. This workshop is available for parents who are exploring ADHD, awaiting assessment, newly diagnosed, or seeking practical tools.

The Year 10 Venice Trip was a great success and the students and staff had a brilliant time. As part of the trip, the students also visited Lake Garda, Padua and Verona, the setting of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet โœˆ๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ‘ทYear 8 Future Ready โ€˜Workplace Safariโ€™

Yesterday, myself, Mrs Harmer and Mrs Grady took our Year 8 Future Ready group on their โ€˜Workplace Safariโ€™, visiting three different workplaces and taking part in a range of hands-on activities designed to give pupils an insight into future careers and industries.

We started the day at Vistry Group, where pupils visited a live home-building site and had the opportunity to try their hand at bricklaying. They learned more about the construction industry and the companyโ€™s housing projects across Warrington.

Our second stop was Simian, where pupils experienced what it is like to work as a scaffolder by building basic scaffolding structures in the training centre used by Simian apprentices.

To round off the day, pupils were granted special access to the offices of Sellafield Ltd. They explored the office environment used by engineers, heard from degree apprentices about their career journeys, and experienced the immersive room which gave them an insight into life on the nuclear site in Cumbria.

It was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to explore a variety of career pathways and gain first-hand experience of different working environments.

34 Students Conquer Silver DofE Expedition

From sleet to sunshine and temperatures ranging from 3ยฐC to 15ยฐC, 34 students successfully completed their Silver DofE qualifying expedition this weekend.

Over three days, they covered an incredible 45km, taking in the Dee Valley, Llantysilio Mountain and the Offaโ€™s D**e Path along the way.

We are incredibly proud of every student for their resilience, teamwork and positive attitude throughout the expedition. We also received lovely comments from members of the public at both campsites, who came over to tell us what a credit the students were.

A huge thank you as well to the staff team who gave up their weekend to support the expedition:
Miss Hooper, Mr Gifford, Mrs Hutchinson, Mr Mercer, Mrs Nicholson, Miss Seger-Evans and Mrs Tolley.

A Wet and Chilly Day

After a beautiful start, today quickly turned wet and chilly. Despite the weather, students have been absolutely brilliant on day 2 of the Silver DofE expedition around Horseshoe Pass in Denbighshire.

Feet are a little wrinkly, but spirits are still high and we are all hoping to dry out soon! ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿ‘
