🇫🇷 In France, a sprig of le muguet (lily of the valley) is traditionally given on 1st May to bring good luck and happiness for the year ahead.

Delicate, bell-shaped, and beautifully fragrant, these flowers are a symbol of spring, renewal, and good fortune.

The tradition dates back to 1561 when King Charles IX of France was gifted a sprig of muguet and told it would bring him luck. He loved the idea so much, he began giving it to the ladies of his court each year.

At our classes, children don’t just learn to speak French or Spanish —they also discover the rich customs and culture, like this beautiful tradition. It’s all part of bringing the language to life!
