Yesterday, we welcomed parents, guardians, agents and schools to the College to join us for the End of Term 3 Graduation. It was a fantastic event, where we able to celebrate the myriad achievements of our students over the past year, both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to those students who were graduating from the College, prizes and awards were presented to students and houses in relation to sport, boarding and all-round achievement. Congratulations to all our prize winners. Special thanks to our guests from a number of Bishopstrow’s partner schools including Padworth College Rendcomb College St Lawrence College Ramsgate Blundell's School and Sidcot School for joining us.

Earlier this week, we celebrated the myriad of successes and achievements of our students this term, including academic awards, border of the term and House of the term. Many congratulations to all our winners, including Newton House.

Earlier this evening, staff and students enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner, complete with turkey and all the trimmings! With thanks to our in-house catering for preparing such a good spread. The home made fudge was a firm favourite!

Yesterday, our weekend programme of activities included a trip to Bath on Ice, our local ice rink. Despite Storm Arwen causing widespread damage across the country, we were blessed with bright blue skies and some suitably chilly temperatures!

We were delighted to welcome Mario Di Clemente to Bishopstrow yesterday. Mario will be joining us as Interim Principal, effective January 2022, replacing Stuart Nicholson who is leaving the College to pursue other interests in education outside Headship.

Ahead of this week’s Remembrance Day on 11 November, our Junior and Middle College students have been busy making poppies from recycled plastic bags. The 100 poppies include a number in the colours of the national flags of our students. The poppy has come to represent the immeasurable sacrifice made by those who served in the First World War and subsequent conflicts and was adopted by the Royal British Legion as the symbol for their Poppy Appeal in aid of those serving in the British Armed Forces, after its formation in 1921.

A belated Halloween update from Bishopstrow. Our students had great fun making these Halloween characters during their Art lessons, using recycled milk cartons.

Earlier today, we visited the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge, one of the UK’s most famous landmarks. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, archaeologists believe Stonehenge was constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. For many of the students, it was their first experience of getting up close to one of England’s most famous landmarks!

Yesterday and as part of our weekend programme, we visited Longleat,an English stately home and the seat of the Marquesses of Bath. Longleat is a leading and early example of the Elizabethan prodigy house. It is also the home of a safari park!
