A visit to Oakham School, a long-standing Bishopstrow Partner School, provided our Development Director, Mario Di Clemente with a first-hand opportunity to see, hear and feel what makes Oakham so special - and the list is a long one: caring staff, outstanding facilities and resources, a diverse and dynamic curriculum and plentiful opportunities for extra-curricular immersion and growth.

Mario also had the chance to meet up with one of our Bishopstrow alumni and could easily understand how successfully his new school has helped him to navigate the transition from life at Bishopstrow to that of a happy and confident Oakhamian.

Thank you to our wonderful Partner and Destination Schools who joined us last week for our CLIL and Contextualised Language Learning Workshop!

It was a pleasure to welcome staff members from over 15 schools, share insights into The Bishopstrow Way, our unique approach to supporting EAL learners when they first arrive in the UK, and showcase the impact of our tailored curriculum.

This event also provided the opportunity to share the incredible work happening in our Partner Schools and share ideas on how we can better support the transition of students moving to their Destination School.

We’re grateful for our continued partnerships and shared commitment to helping international students thrive in the UK boarding system.

Off Time Table Day was a hit with our themed escape rooms! Students cracked codes with Alan Turing, solved magical maths in a Harry Potter challenge, travelled the globe through Geography, and uncovered rhymes and poets in Literature. A day full of fun, teamwork and learning!

This week in Science Club, our students discovered how to make a battery out of coins! A brilliant hands-on activity that lit up the classroom!

Making the most of the sunshine with outdoor art classes! This week, our Middle artists took their sketchbooks outside to explore perspective and depth in the landscape - a perfect blend of creativity and fresh air.

Daily sports sessions are a highlight at Bishopstrow! This Term, our students have been developing their football skills while strengthening teamwork, communication, and confidence on the pitch. ⚽️

Thank you to Karen Semple, Director of Admissions, for hosting a wonderful visit to St George's School, Ascot (and on St George's Day too!), the highlight of which was a chance to catch up with two former students who attended Bishopstrow last year before joining St George's in September.

Their very evident happiness and confidence, not to mention their rapidly improving English language skills, are a credit to their new school as well as a reminder of the strong potential which students like these show at Bishopstrow ahead of their transition to a new and outstanding British Boarding School environment, like that on offer at St George's.

M1 students have been getting up close with nature! They loved using microscopes to explore the structure of leaves and discover the hidden details that make up the world around us.

Our students had a fantastic time exploring Bath Abbey, diving into its incredible history dating all the way back to 675 AD! From stunning architecture to fascinating stories, it was a day full of discovery.

On possibly the sunniest day of spring so far, it was a pleasure to visit Trent College for the first time and to understand, very easily, why students there are able to thrive both academically and personally.

There is so much on offer to enhance the student experience and it was great to hear this directly from one of our Bishopstrow alumni who is enjoying life at the College.

Many thanks to Maria James, Head of Admissions, for such a warm welcome and a fabulous tour of the grounds and facilities. We look forward to growing our continued partnership!
