Reception Have been creating some lovely Winter pictures on the ipads and have enjoyed looking at different types of habitats and had fun creating habitat pictures for the bears from our story Goldilocks and the three bears.

Year 1 In PSHE have been looking at working together to complete a challenge. We began with a mirroring exercise, where the children had to mirror their partners actions and we had a go at complete a welly decorating task collaboratively. The children had to focus on turn taking and compromising to be successful in the task. Great team work Year 1!

Year 2 have been Using a step by step video to practice drawing using perspective. Aren't they fantastic!

They've also been exploring the work of the artist L.S. Lowry. Inspired by his distinctive style, creating their own seascape paintings, showing great focus, creativity and enthusiasm throughout the lesson, and we were really proud of the thoughtful choices they made in their paintings.

They've also been working hard in Science, the children were so disheartened by the problem with plastic pollution that they have created their own posters.

Year 3 have ben doing some amazing block printing in Art. We first carved our Indian pattern onto a polystyrene square using a pencil. After that we then needed to paint our blocks and press them onto paper. The end products are looking great (photos to follow)

We have also been looking at different styles of Indian art this term. We have created our own henna design, decorated a rangoli pattern so it is symmetrical and had a go at creating our own geometrical rangoli patterns.

*SWIMMING*

Year 4/5/6 will be swimming every Friday from 27th February to 3rd July.

Learning to swim is an essential life skill that builds confidence, improves health, and enhances safety in and around water. We feel very lucky that the children get this opportunity.

Children should bring a towel and appropriate swimwear:
Females - one piece costume
Males - swimming trunks above the knee

Long hair tied back please, and no jewellery.

Please do reach out if you or your child have any worries or concerns about these lessons.

This week, we will be marking Children's Mental Health Week at school.

This year's theme is 'This is my place' which links really closely with our school focus on belonging.

There is lots of information and many resources online to support with discussions regarding mental health in a child-friendly way.

Here are some good websites:
- https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/
- https://schoolofkindness.org/childrens-mental-health-week-2026

Tomorrow, the children will be coming together in their houses to work towards a fabulous whole school project. We're really looking forward to sharing more about this soon!

Download free teaching resources for Children's Mental Health Week 2024 and join our virtual assembly.
