Candidate 1 achieved grade 8 in maths and an 8 in further maths.

Candidate 2 achieved grade 7.

Candidate 3 achieved an A in iGCSE.

Candidate 4 achieved grade 4 (foundation tier)

Candidate 5 achieved grade 8.

Super results. 👏 well done!

Candidate 3 achieved grade 6 (she was only put up to higher last year!)

Candidate 5 was on the foundation paper and achieved the top grade 5.

Well done to our a-level candidates today.

Candidate 1 achieved A* in maths and A in further maths. He was considering dropping further maths when we started with him last year!

Candidate 2 achieved an A* in maths.

It’s fabulous to see our maths students growing in confidence and getting better results each week and in their mocks.

Unfortunately, we are currently full for new students, but if you have a year 10 or 12 student, then please do get in touch for starting in 2022.

I have not posted for a while, but the tutoring team have been busy!

After a successful set of a-level results for our (now) past students, we are at capacity for tutees from years 10 to a-level further maths and looking for another tutor.

With students moving into the sumemr term and many doing exams for GCSE setting, now is an excellent time to get maths tutoring. Please call me for availability for year 9 to year 12.

With most students having completed their exams and TAG grades being moderated; attention is turning to year 9 and 10 exams and some schools have decided to keep these exams as evidence in case of a similar TAG process next year.
Our maths tutor have taken on a number of students in the last few weeks, but we still have some availability. Please message me to book your child with us for maths tutoring starting after half term.

We are nearing the end of Summer 2021 exam season with year 11 and year 13 exams being completed and schools having to compile evidence and send the grades into Ofqual from 26th May until 18th June. At Brain Boost, we now have capacity to start to accept students from years 7 to 10 and year 12 for maths tutoring. Please get in touch for more information.

One of the biggest issues faced by secondary school students is motivation. The YouGov parents survey has highlighed engagment and focus as the two biggest issues. Regular online tutoring can help engage and motivate.

With exam years actual exams being cancelled, it is still important that students continue to work to fill in holes in their knowledge with Ofqual providing advice on what teacher led assessments might look like. At Brain boost we can help with any KS3, KS4 or KS5 students to improve their maths grades. Please PM me for availability.

Our joint consultation with the Department for Education on awarding GCSE, AS and A level grades closes today (29 January) and we have already received over 90,000 responses. It is hugely important for those who will be affected by these arrangements to be able to shape the way ahead.

Ofqual has now released it's consultation on grading for 2021. I would encourage as many of those affected as possible to respond to the consultation with your views.
