Our Easter holiday Short Breaks couldn't have been better with a variety of shelters built, excellent team-work on the low ropes course and the fan-fav tunnels finishing things off. All in glorious sunshine ☀️

✨Easter half term SEND 'Short Breaks' are here ✨

Located over three of our Dorset Council Outdoor Education Centres.

Our activity days are designed for young people aged 7-17 who have mild to moderate disabilities. Our session allow them to have fun, try new activities, build their confidence and create new friendships.

Last call for any SEND children looking to enjoy our HALF TERM short break activities here at Carey Camp. We currently have two slots available for our 7-11 age group on Thursday 19th Feb and three slots available for our 12-17 group on Friday the 20th.
Sessions run from 10am - 2:30pm and are only £8.50 per child.
- The younger group will be staying off the floor with our low ropes challenges, traverse wall 🧗‍♂️and ever-popular tunnels.
- The older group will be engaged with bushcraft 🏕️, navigation and campcraft skills ⛺️

WINTER CLEAROUT ⛺️

We have a whole range of second-hand camping equipment ready to sell before the 2026 season starts.
Perfect for a burgeoning scout group, a new outdoor activity centre or a youth group looking to add something new this season.
Equipment includes: 3m & 4m Bell Tents, sleeping mats, sleeping bags, Trangia stoves, mess tins, pots/pans, survival bags etc. *note - there is more kit than just shown here.
Looking to sell as a job lot/lots rather than individual items.

Each week brings something new to explore (10am–12pm):
• 3 Feb – Learn to belay & tunnels
• 10 Feb – Team challenges & tunnels
• 3 Mar – Rock hop at Tout Quarry
• 17 Mar – Shelter building (Blackthorn Woods)
• 14 Apr – Rock hop (Mt Chesil)
• 21 Apr – Campfire cooking

Our much loved (and much used) traverse wall has had a massive overhaul.
After three panels had to be removed due to wear and tear, we decided that it was well overdue some TLC. Panels were stripped down, climbing holds cleaned, new panels painted and attached, and we even put in a small off-vertical section to add some extra challenge.

We are now welcoming children for October Half Term on our much loved 'Short Breaks' SEND sessions across three of our Dorset Council outdoor education centres.
