What a weekend!
We had our first camp out on the school field, thanks to Planet Purbeck and our PTFA team.

The school field was turned in to a campsite on Saturday morning and the 100+ campers quickly settled in.
They were joined by volunteers from Sustainable Wareham who led nature crafts in the marquee and a fascinating nature walk around Wareham common.

As evening approach the firepits were lit on the playground and marshmallows were roasted, and finally we all headed out for a bat walk to see watch some amazing bats over the field!🦇

Although not much sleep was achieved (mostly thanks to lots of helicopter activity in the area!) everyone enjoyed breakfast at their tents, and a last game of hide and seek was played before we packed up and went home. Please can we also thank Eagle Plant Hire for supplying the toilets for us all to use.

Another day, another Y6 activity. Today we welcomed 2 members from Swanage & Wareham RFC to our school to lead a host of activities, skills and games for the children to enjoy. Y6 had the best time learning how to pass, dodge, kick and work as a team. Thank you to the amazing Felicity and Kacey for giving up their time today.

Y6 are continuing their fun week of activities. Their Paulton's Park trip was 'epic' in the words of one of the children! They spent 6 and a half hours riding rollercoasters, carousels, jeeps, tea cups and even ventured into the Haunted House! Everyone was exhausted on the way home but have no doubt made memories to last a lifetime.

Y6 had the most amazing time at the Andrew Simpson Sailing Academy in Portland on Monday. All organised as part of their annual Activity Week. It's the highlight of the year for Y6 - a week full of LOTS of fun activities.
The children developed so much confidence during the session and all managed to sail independently - totally amazing, well done Y6!! Thanks to the staff at the sailing centre Andrew Simpson Centres for your incredible patience and support.

Don't forgot to pay a visit to Rollington Barn (on the road to Studland) this week to see all the amazing pieces of art work produced by the children of WSM. As part of PAW Purbeck Art Weeks, our incredibly talented children have all created exceptional pieces of art based on the theme of 'birds'. The photos will give you a snapshot but to really get a feel for the talent we have, you must pay the barn a visit.

Yesterday, we said an emotional 'Goodbye' to our wonderful Headteacher, Mrs Davids. Mrs Davids has worked at Wareham St Mary Primary School for 13 years and has been the school's Headteacher for 8 of those. Every day she showed compassion, kindness and a strong belief in every single child and member of staff. From gate duties, to tea parties, Mrs Davids always made sure everyone felt valued and part of the WSM community.

From everyone at WSM, we want to say a HUGE 'Thank You' for being the most amazing Headteacher and friend to us all.
We will all miss you (and Betsy!) very much. ######

Rollington Barn Opening Event on Friday 22nd May at 4-5pm
Our Children have been taking part and doing some amazing art work which will be displayed at Rollington Bran on Friday 22nd May also the brilliant Harbour School Band will be
playing, it will be great fun with musicians, a choir an art table,
free ice cream and lots of incredible artwork. Pop along an take a look.
