PTFA Chairβs Annual Report
Corfe Castle Primary School & Preschool PTFA AGM β 16th September 2026
Welcome and Opening
Welcome everyone and thank you so much for joining us for our Annual General Meeting. Today is a wonderful opportunity to look back on everything we have achieved over the last school year, celebrate our successes, and express our gratitude to the incredible community that makes it all happen.
Our main goal has always been to enrich our childrenβs school experience and bring families together. Looking back over the past twelve months, I am incredibly proud of how our community has rallied to do exactly that.
A Year of Fantastic Events
We have had a packed calendar this year, filled with old favourites and some brilliant new traditions. Here are some of our major highlights:
Autumn Disco: This was a high-energy start to our school year! The children had an absolute blast dancing with their friends, and it set a wonderful, joyful tone for the terms ahead.
Wreath Workshop: New to 2025. A beautiful, creative evening that brought parents, staff, and friends together. It was a fantastic festive activity, learning skills, and raising vital funds in a relaxed setting.
The Christmas Fair: A magical event filled with festive cheer. Thanks to an incredible turnout and volunteer support the event was a hit with the kids and raised a fantastic amount of money.
Book Fair: Promoting a love for reading is so important to me. The Book Fair was a massive success, helping parents and children choose to buy brilliant new books all while earning rewards to stock our school and classroom libraries.
Easter Hunt: Another new event for this year but also a great success. It was great to see so many parents from school and the wider community join us in the school playground.
The Summer Fair: This was our biggest undertaking of the year. Unfortunately, due to my commitments as a carer for my mum I had to step back for this event. But my amazing team stepped up. An event of this scale requires an enormous amount of effort and support, and the PTFA volunteers and community truly rose to the challenge. From setting up stalls in the heat to donating raffle prizes, baking cakes, and running games, the teamwork on display was nothing short of spectacular. It was an unforgettable day and a massive fundraising success!
Thank yous: My Sincere Gratitude
None of these events would be possible without the hard work and dedication of our school community. I want to extend a massive thank you to:
Our Phenomenal PTFA Volunteers: To everyone who attended a meeting, baked a cake, ran a stall, or gave up even an hour of their timeβthank you. Your energy, creativity, and commitment are what keep this association alive. Many hands truly make light work.
The School Leadership and Staff: A huge thank you to Mr Stoner, the teachers, and the brilliant office staff, Charlotte. Thank you for accommodating our chaotic event setups, staying late to support us, and working hand-in-hand with us to ensure every event ran safely and smoothly. Your collaboration is invaluable.
Parents, Carers, and Families: Thank you for showing up, buying raffle tickets, donating items, and supporting everything we do. Your generosity directly impacts the children's daily school lives.
Looking to the Future
The money we raised together this year has allowed us to fund library books, subsidised school trips, leavers hoodies and much more. Seeing the smiles on the children's faces makes every single minute of planning worthwhile.
As we move into the new school year, we are always looking for new faces to join our team. Whether you want to join the committee, help plan a specific event, or simply volunteer for an hour at the next disco, you are so welcome. Please do chat with any of us after the meeting if you'd like to get involved!
Thank you all once again for a brilliant year.
Stepping down
Due to personal commitments I was only ever able to be chair for one school year. Therefore I am stepping down as chair as of today. However I am not leaving, my daughter has one more year at the school, and I will volunteer on the PTFA during that time.
I will support the next chair and deputy if they need me and I look forward to what we can achieve together next.
