Whole School Walks - Wednesday 24th September!

Good Morning!
All classes will be out of school for a welly walk next Wednesday morning. They will all need to have raincoats and wellies and be wearing trousers (leggings or joggers would be ideal) for the trip.
We will need extra adults for the walk so would really appreciate volunteers to help. We will be leaving school at 9.50am, after Read Write Inc. and will be back at approximately 11.30am. Please let us know if you can help.

World Book Day fun!
On Friday, we held our World Book Day celebrations. Everyone enjoyed dressing up in the PJs and sharing their favourite stories. The children in Reception and Pre-school enjoyed a book treasure hunt together and everyone created story stones, which we will display around the school grounds.
There lots of fantastic entries for the story themed mobile competition - they were amazing! Well done to everyone who entered!
The children should have brought home a £1 book token which can be exchanged for one of the World Book Day titles - there are lots to choose from so there should be a story for everyone!

Last week we were visited by the Explorer Dome team. Tyneham Kimmeridge and Jurassic classes went inside the dome and took part in interactive sessions about space, sound and light, led by the team. These sessions support their science learning in school this half term. We are very grateful to FOBRS who supported the cost of the visit for the morning. 😀

Last Thursday was National Handwriting Day. Lulworth and Jurassic classes had fun exploring different styles of handwriting and presentation. They made some lovely displays of their work for their classrooms.

Good morning everyone!
Just a reminder that we have an Online Safety session running in school on Friday afternoon (31st) at 2pm, with Oakford Technology.

It should be an informative session, and a useful reminder about how to support your children when they are online. There will be some practical advice regarding security, filtering and controls for devices too; especially helpful if you’ve just purchased devices for Christmas!

Please come along and support us with our online safety education programme. Free refreshments as always!!

Good morning,

We have taken the decision to remain closed today. The school site is extremely dangerous and the driveway is not accessible.

We must consider the safety of staff on their journey to work and both pupils and staff when they are on site.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Due to the email migration upgrade we are not able to access our normal distribution groups at present - please spread the word!

Dear parents and carers,

We have received a number of enquires, this afternoon, asking whether school will be open tomorrow.

At the present time we are unable to make a firm decision due to freezing conditions and the large number of staff that live in outlying villages and further afield. The safety of all pupils and staff is our priority and therefore we will need to assess road conditions tomorrow morning and decide if it is safe for staff to travel to school. We will inform you all at the earliest opportunity if the school will need to remain closed.

The conditions on the school drive and paved areas at present are treacherous and therefore if school is open, we would advise avoiding using the driveway and carpark where possible.

Stay safe and warm this evening and we hope to see you tomorrow
