Huge congratulations to Amelie who has passed Functional Skills Subject Level 1 in both Maths and English!

Amelie and I have worked together for 2 years as part of my collaboration with The Ranch and she is the first student I have taken from start to finish through the Functional Skills curriculum!

Amelie won't mind me saying it's been "a journey" but through everything she has persevered to succeed!

I am incredibly proud that, not only did she pass, she absolutely smashed it scoring over 80% in Maths and Writing, and full marks in her Speaking and Listening assessment.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff who have supported Amelie and helped us to achieve this goal. So often education is more than 1 person, it takes a tribe!

The Functional Skills programme for Sept 26 is available as part of an Alternative Provision package at The Ranch or privately with myself.

Little day trip to the place that inspired the name of my teaching space "The Cove". My favourite beach out of all of the ones I am lucky to live near, Lulworth Cove. A place where I feel calm, relaxed and truly myself, all the values I wanted reflected in my setting.
And yes the water really was that clear today!

🏜️ Ancient Egypt Self Directed project🏜️

One of my students is a keen historian and has chosen the Ancient Egyptians as her new topic. This week, she is making her own Top Trumps based around all the different job roles people held in this time.

We had a great session, researching the different roles and then ranking them based on social status, how dangerous the job was, the physical requirements and level of education required to do the job.

Looking forward to the next session when we complete them and get to play!
